Objective: This study evaluated the efficacy, recurrence, and safety of Wenyang's treatment of functional constipation by using a systematic review method to provide an objective and reliable evidence-based basis for Wenyang's treatment of functional constipation. Methods: This study will search China knowledge network(CNKI),Wan Fangdata,VIP Chinese Journal Database(VIP),Chinese Biomedical Literature Service System(CBM),Pub Med database, and Cochrane Library database from building database to January 1,2020,which have randomized controlled trial study of warming yang Method for Functional Constipation.According to the established criteria for selection, the literatures that were finally included in the study were screened.Bias risk assessment tools provided by the Cochrane Collaboration Network were used to evaluate the quality of the literature.Revman manager 5.3 was used for meta-analysis.Results:1.This research finally included 21 literatures, including 13 journal articles,7master's and doctoral dissertations, and 1 conference dissertation, all of which were Chinese literatures. The literature was evaluated by the bias risk assessment tools provided by the Cochrane Collaboration Network. The quality of the literature are not high due to the lack of blindness and allocation concealment.2.The meta-analysis was performed using Revman manager 5.3.The results of the study show that: Compared with the conventional western medicine group, the treatment of functional constipation with warming yang method can improve the total effective rate(OR: 3.71,95% CI [2.68,5.12],P <0.00001),improve the cure rate(OR:2.46,95% CI [1.90,3.19],P <0.00001),reduce the recurrence rate(OR: 0.31,95% CI[0.18,0.52],P <0.0001),reduce the total score of main symptoms:(the first group:MD:-4.80,95% CI [-6.49,-3.11],P <0.00001,the second group: MD:-0.64,95% CI[-0.96,-0.33],P <0.0001),increased defecation frequency(SMD:-0.84,95% CI [-1.22,-0.47],P <0.00001),shortening the defecation time(SMD:-1.01,95% CI [-1.58,-0.44],P = 0.0005),reducing the difficulty of defecation(SMD:-1.31,95% CI [-2.14,-0.49],P = 0.002).In terms of the incidence of adverse reactions(OR: 0.38,95% CI[0.01,13.88],P = 0.60),there was no significant difference between the treatment with warming yang method and conventional western medicine.conclusion:1.The treatment of functional constipation with warming yang method is superior to conventional western medicine in improving the total effective rate, improving the cure rate and reducing the recurrence rate.2.The treatment of functional constipation with warming yang method is better than conventional western medicine in improving the main symptoms.3.There is no significant difference in the incidence of adverse reactions between warming yang method and conventional western medicine.
