Objective: To observe the early clinical outcome of knee joint anteromedial osteoarthritis(AMOA)by using of Oxford III unicondylar system. Methods: The operation was performed by the same surgeon between January 2016 and July 2019.Forty-one patients with anteromedial osteoarthritis(52 knees)were selected with the recommended indications. The average age was 64.0 years(51-81 years). All the prostheses used were the Oxford III unicondylar system. The American Knee Society Score(AKSS),Visual Analogue Score(VAS),Range of Motion(ROM)and preoperative, postoperative, final follow-up radiograph of the knee were taken to evaluate the postoperative efficacy. Results: The average follow-up time was 1.5 years, and the patients without thrombus can stand or walk 3 days after surgery. The AKSS-K score increased from an average of(51.30±10.85)before surgery to(92.30±5.43)at the last follow-up.The AKSS-F score increased from an average of(48.43±13.63)before surgery to(81.85±8.26)after surgery. The VAS score decreased from an average of 7.36±1.25 before surgery to(0.78±0.39)after surgery.ROM increased from(119.13±13.91)° to(123.70±9.67)°,all indicators above are statistically significant(P=0.00,<0.05),and the patient's activity intensity was significantly improved compared to before surgery.Posterior tibial venous thrombosis occurred in 4 patients, which improved after symptomatic and conservative treatment;2 patients with the dislocation of mobile bearing appeared separately at 5 months and 3 years after the operation, and recovered well after changing the bearing. Conclusion: The short-term clinical efficacy of the treatment of anteromedial osteoarthritis of the knee joint is satisfactory by using Oxford III unicondylar system, and the surgical trauma is small and the recovery is rapid, which can obviously improve the symptoms and has excellent postoperative function.
