Objective: Pulmonary mucoepidermoid carcinoma(PMEC)is one of the rarer malignant lung tumors, but its clinical characteristics are unclear due to its low incidence. At present, there is no consensus on the best choice of treatment. With the development of immunohistochemical technology, the rate of missed diagnosis and misdiagnosis of the disease has gradually decreased. The purpose of this study is to provide basis for the formulation of clinical characteristics, immunohistochemical characteristics, and diagnosis and treatment strategies of PMEC.Methods: A retrospective analysis was performed on the clinical data of 55 patients with pathologically confirmed PMEC admitted to the Fourth Hospital of Hebei Medical University(Hebei Cancer Hospital)from January 2003 to January 2020.All patients underwent CT or bronchoscopy.Forty patients who underwent comprehensive surgery-based treatment were selected for postoperative survival analysis and prognosis research. The immunohistochemical results of 41 patients were summarized and analyzed. Results: There were 29 males and 26 females in the whole group;aged 15-78 years, with a median age of 54 years. All 40 postoperative patients were followed up(Jan 2020).A total of 12 patients died and 3 were lost to follow-up.The 1-year,3-year,and 5-year survival rates were about 89.1%,64.8%,and 54.0%,respectively.The survival time is 130 months.Survival analysis showed that: smoking history, alcohol abuse, number of lymph nodes removed, allergy history, family tumor history, tumor site, surgical method,T stage,N stage, and pathological stage have no statistical impact on the survival of patients with pulmonary mucoepidermoid carcinoma Learn the difference.Univariate analysis results: gender, age, and level of tissue differentiation are risk factors that affect the prognosis of lung mucoepidermoid carcinoma. The results of multivariate analysis showed that the level of tissue differentiation was an independent prognostic risk factor affecting lung mucoepidermoid carcinoma. Conclusion: The incidence of PMEC is low,and the diagnosis depends mainly on postoperative pathology.Immunohistochemical results are helpful for accurate diagnosis of pathological types.Surgery is the main treatment method. Its prognosis is closely related to the level of tissue differentiation.Distant metastases and short-term recurrence are also visible.Compared with other types of lung cancer, the degree of malignancy remains to be determined.
