| Objective:Thyroid nodules are very common,and some patients require treatment due to pressure or invasive symptoms.In that case,the traditional treatment methods such as surgery,TSH suppression,and 131I have been used.In recent years,image-guided minimally invasive treatment has been applied to the treatment of thyroid nodules.Our primary aim was to summarize the literature published to date on the use of radiofrequency ablation?RFA?in the treatment of thyroid nodules and to evaluate the effectiveness of this treatment.Methods:A systematic review and meta-analysis of the scientific literature were did by searching the CNKI,wan fang,Pubmed and the Cochrane Library for studies on the treatment of RFA for thyroid nodules,to identify the inclusion criteria and exclusion criteria.Assessed the pooled standard mean difference of the 95%confidence interval?CI?by comparing pre-RFA with post-RFA using fixed or random-effects model.The statistical analyses were calculated by Revman5.3 and Stata15.1 software.Results:Totally 22 articles were finally identified,including 10benign nodules articles and 12 malignant nodules articles?1499benign thyroid nodules,and 382 malignant thyroid nodules?.All datas of the nodule volume,the proportion of overall and major complications before and after radiofrequency ablation,and subgroup analysis of benign nodules and malignant nodules were analyzed.The symptom and cosmetic score of benign nodules,and largest diameter and serum thyroglobulin?Tg?level of malignant nodules were also included into this study.The results showed that the volume of thyroid nodules was significantly reduced after RFA,and the VRR and the proportion of overall and major complications of malignant nodules was higher than that of benign nodule.The symptom and cosmetic score of benign nodules showed significant decrease after RFA.Conclusion:In summary,compared with traditional treatment methods,RFA is a safe and effective alternative method for patients with thyroid nodules. |
