Background Psoriasis is a common and recurrent chronic inflammatory skin disease. The disease has genetic susceptibility and belongs to polygenic genetic disease. It is influenced by genetic factors and environmental factors.Recent studies have shown that the pathogenesis of psoriasis has a great relationship with microbial infection.Candida, especially Candida albicans,is a common parasitic flora in human skin and mucous membranes. At present, many scholars at home and abroad have studied the correlation between the Candida albicans and the occurrence and development of psoriasis. However, there is not yet a unified conclusion, and the specific mechanism of influence between the two needs to be further studied, which needs more research to clarify. Objective To understand the difference of the candida albicans carrier rate on the skin and oral cavity of psoriasis vulgaris patients and healthy people. To explore whether the rate of candida albicans in patients with psoriasis vulgaris was correlated with sex,age and PASI score. To clarify the relationship between psoriasis vulgaris and candida albicans. Methods A total of 200 patients with psoriasis vulgaris and 100 healthy people were selected in this study. To culture specimens from the five parts of the skin of the two groups, including of forehead, upper limbs, chest, back and lower limbs, and the oral samples were collected with pharyngeal swabs.Results(1)Candida albicans were isolated from the skin of 28% of patients and 6% of controls and from oral specimens of 31.5% of patients and 6% of controls. After comparing the data of the two groups,it was found that the positive rate of Candida albicans culture in the lesions of psoriasis vulgaris was higher than that in the healthy control group(P <0.05).And the positive rate of Candida albicans culture in the oral specimens of psoriasis vulgaris was higher than that in the healthy control group(P<0.05).And the rate of Candida albicans in all parts of psoriasis vulgaris was higher than that in healthy control group.(2)The positive rate of Candida albicans in psoriasis vulgaris patients with older age was higher than that in patients with younger age(P <0.05).The positive rate of Candida albicans in psoriasis vulgaris patients with longer course was higher than that in patients with shorter course.(P <0.05).There was no significant difference in the positive rate of Candida albicans in lesions and oral samples between male and female patients(P >0.05).There was no significant difference in the positive rate of Candida albicans in lesions and oral samples among patients with different age of onset.(3)The positive rate of Candida albicans in the lesions of psoriasis vulgaris patients with larger PASI scores was higher than that of those with smaller scores(P<0.05),but the rate of Candida albicans in oral samples was not significantly correlated with PASI scores of psoriasis vulgaris patients(P >0.05).Conclusion 1.The positive rate of Candida albicans in forehead, upper limbs, abdomen, back, lower extremities and oral were all higher than that in healthy people.2.The positive rate of Candida albicans in psoriasis vulgaris patients with older age and longer course was higher than that in patients with younger age and shorter course.3.The higher the PASI score was,the higher the rate of Candida albicans was in the lesions of psoriasis vulgaris, but there was no correlation between the rate of Candida albicans and PASI score in oral cavity4.There was no significant difference in the positive rate of Candida albicans in lesions and oral samples between male and female patients. There was no significant difference in the positive rate of Candida albicans in lesions and oral samples among patients with different age of onset.
