The Risk Factors Of Depressive Symptoms In Patients With Myasthenia Gravis

Objective: To investigate the incidence rate and risk factors of depression in patients with myasthenia gravis(MG).Methods: From January 2018 to July 2019,patients with myasthenia gravis who were diagnosed and treated in the neurology department of the First Affiliated Hospital of China Medical University were collected randomly.To statistic the prevalence of depressive symptoms in patients with Myasthenia Gravis.To analyze the relationship between sex,age,first symptoms,duration of disease,the severity of disease,whether combined with thymoma,type of serum antibody and treatment methods and depressive symptoms in patients with Myasthenia Gravis.The American Myasthenia Gravis Association clinical classification(MGFA clinical classification)to assess the severity of myasthenia gravis patients.Hamilton Depression Rating Scale 17-item version(HAM-D)to assess depression status.Results: The incidence concomitant of depression with Myasthenia Gravis was 58.5%.Univariate regression analysis showed that female,Longer course and Severe condition all were risk factors for depressive symptoms in MG patients(p<0.05).Protective factors of depression associated with anti-RyR antibody-positive MG patients(P <0.05).Multivariate regression analysis showed that the independent risk factors for depression of MG patients are female(OR=7.359,P=0.012),Longer course(0R=1.293,P=0.005)and Severe condition(OR=4.757,P=0.001).Conclusion: The incidence of concomitant depression is high in MG patients.Female,longer course and severe condition are more likely to be associated with depressive symptoms of MG patients.Patients with positive anti-RyR antibodies are less likely to have depression.
