Abstract/Summary:
Objective:Objective to evaluate the changes of tendon sectional area,circumference,thickness and biological elasticity in T2DM patients by shear wave elastography(SWE),and to explore the correlation between shear wave velocity and glycosylated hemoglobin level in T2DM patients.Methods:68 T2DM patients and 50 healthy volunteers were collected.The cross-sectional area,circumference and thickness of the middle section of the Achilles tendon were measured.Shear wave elastography was used to measure the shear wave velocity(SWV)of the Achilles tendon elasticity at this point,and the hba1c value of T2DM patients in hospital was recorded,so as to plot the scatter diagram of the correlation between the shear wave velocity and hba1c level of T2DM patients.Results:The subjects left and right in the middle the Achilles tendon elastic comparison and contrast between gender had no statistical significance(P>0.05);The parameter controls the Achilles tendon in group A were no statistical significance(P>0.05),compared with group B only SWV value was statistically significant(P<0.05),compared with group C Achilles tendon circumference,thick diameter and cross-sectional area and SWV all have significant difference,and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05);SWV only statistically significant in group A than group B(P<0.05),group A compared with group C in addition to the circumference of no statistical significance,the rest of the parameters were statistically significant(P<0.05);Group B than in group C cross-sectional area and SWV value two parameters are statistically significant(P<0.05).Multiple linear regression analysis results are shown in table 1,HbA1c,duration,BMI and Achilles tendon SWV change correlation(p<0.05),while age and its correlation with no statistical significance(p=0.071).Correlation analysis showed that HbA1c,the course of the disease and BMI were positively correlated with Achilles SWV values,statistically difference(the correlation coefficient,respectively r1=0.604,and,r2=0.536 r3=0.509,P<0.05,r4=0.475,P=0.062,table 3,4),BMI is weak correlation,no statistically significant correlation between age and SWV values.Conclusion:In patients with T2DM can cause the Achilles tendon hardness increase,and make the Achilles tendon thickening,cross-sectional area increases.Course of the disease,patients with HbA1c,BMI,all can affect the Achilles tendon hardness.SWE techniques can be quantitative assessment of T2DM patients with Achilles tendon biology elastic change,to give clinicians to provide the reference in the process of prevention of diabetic lower extremity.
