The Value of ZTE Imaging Technology in the Display of Lung StructureObjective:To investigate the feasibility and clinical application value of ZTE technology in display of lung structureMethods:Twenty healthy volunteers underwent routine SS-FSE and ZTE sequence scans using a GE 3.0T magnetic resonance scanner.The subjective quality scores of the images,the SNR and the SIR were mearsured and analysed between the two sequence.The S1 of lung tissue and main bronchial lumen also were mearsured and analysed in each sequenceResults:The subjective quality score of SS-FSE sequence was 2.00±0.75,and the subjective quality score of ZTE sequence was 3.50±1.00,with statistically significant difference(z=-3.681,P=0.000,<0.05).The SNR of the SS-FSE sequence and the ZTE sequence were 5.81 ±1.96 and 8.84± 1.36,respectively,with statistically significant difference between the two sequence(t=7.804,P=0.000,<0.05).The SIR of the SS-FSE sequence and the ZTE sequence were 0.78±0.22 and 0.97±0.11,respectively,with statistically significant difference between the two sequence(t=4.056,P=0.001,<0.05).In the SS-FSE sequence,the SI of the lung tissue was 69.36±24.18,and the SI in the main bronchial lumen was 307.94±206.55.The difference was statistically significant(z=-3.920,P=0.000,<0.05).In the ZTE sequence,the SI of the lung tissue was 34.16±3.79,and the SI in the main bronchial lumen was 28.59±8.59 The difference was statistically significant(z=-2.837,P=0.005,<0.05).Conclusion:ZTE technology is feasible in the display of lung tissue.It can clearly show the structure of lung tissue and has a certain clinical application value in magnetic resonance pulmonary imagingPart II The Parameter Optimization of ZTE Imaging Technology in the Display of Lung TissueObjective:The image qualitys obtained with different bandwidth and flip angle were compared to explore the optimal scanning parameters of the ZTE technology for lung structure display.Methods:Twenty healthy volunteers were collected for ZTE magnetic resonance examination.They were divided into 4 groups according to the scanning parameters of bandwidth(BW)and flip angle(FA):Group A:BW=46.8kHz,FA=1°;Group B:BW=62.5kHz,FA=1°;Group C:BW=46.8kHz,FA=3°;Group D:BW=62.5kHz,FA=2°.The subjective quality scores of the images,the SNR and CNR were measured between the four groups.Group A and group B had the same FA,and the optimal BW was selected by comparing the image quality of the two groups.Then,according to the optimal BW,the image quality of group A and group C or group B and group D were compared to select the optimal FA.Thus,the optimal scanning parameters of ZTE sequence were illustrated.Results:Keep FA the same and compare BW,that is,group A and group B were compared.The results showed that the subjective quality score of group A was 7.00± 1.38,and the subjective quality score of group B was 8.25± 1.38(z=-2.983,P=0.003,<0.05).The SNR of group A and group B were 8.75±1.11 and 9.75±0.95,respectively(t=-3.274,P=0.004,<0.05).The CNR of group A and group B were 41.10±8.48 and 39.81 ±9.14,respectively(t=0.702,P=0.491,>0.05).There were statistically significant differences in subjective quality scores and SNR between group A and B,but no statistically significant differences in CNR between the two groups.When BW was 62.5kHz,FA was compared,that is,group B and group D were compared.The results showed that the subjective quality score of group B was 8.25±1.38,and the subjective quality score of group D was 9.50±1.88(z=-2.629,P=0.009,<0.05).The SNR of group B and group D were 9.75±0.95 and 9.23±1.67,respectively(t=1.728,P=0.100,>0.05).The CNR of group B and group D were 39.81±9.14 and 45.01±9.87,respectively(t=-4.936,P=0.000,<0.05).There were statistically significant differences in subjective quality scores and CNR between group B and D,but no statistically significant differences in SNR between the two groups.Conclusion:When the BW was 62.5kHz and the FA was 2°,the subjective quality score of lung obtained by the ZTE sequence was higher,and the SNR and CNR were better.Therefore,the bandwidth of 62.5kHz and the flip angle of 2°are the optimal parameters for the MRI scanner to display lung structure in this study.In the future clinical practice,this parameter of ZTE technology can be popularized or further extended.Part ? A Preliminary Study on the Clinical Value of ZTE Imaging Technology in Pulmonary DiseasesObjective:To investigate the sensitivity of ZTE sequence to the various signs of pulmonary diseases,and compare the differences in the display clarity of ZTE sequence to different signs.Methods:Twenty-five patients with obvious pulmonary diseases confirmed by chest CT examination in our hospital were collected and ZTE sequence scan was performed using GE 3.0T magnetic resonance imaging.The signs of pulmonary diseases included masses,nodules,patchy shadows,cord shadows,translucent shadows,cavities,bronchiectasis and diffuse lung lesions.Chest CT images of each patient were reviewed by a chest radiologist with 15 years of experience,and the results were used as the reference standard for radiological findings.Then all images obtained with CT and ZTE sequence were independently and doubleblindly evaluated by other two radiologists with more than 5 years of experience.The detection rates of ZTE sequence for pulmonary diseases were calculated,and the clarity of various disease signs of ZTE sequence was evaluated using a 5-point scoring criteria.Comparing the ability of the ZTE sequence to display different disease signs.Results:The detection rates of lung masses and cavities were highest in the ZTE sequence,which were 100%and 94.7%.The detection rates of patchy shadows,diffuse lesions,nodules,and cord shadows were the second,which were 92.3%,83.3%,71.4%and 66.7%.ZTE sequence could hardly detect bronchiectasis and translucent shadows,and the detection rates were only 33.3%and 9.8%.The scoring results showed that the subjective scores of the two radiologists for different pulmonary disease signs of ZTE sequence were consistent(kappa=0.658).The image quality scores of cavities,masses,diffuse lesions,cord shadows,patchy shadows and nodules were 5.00±0.50,4.50±1.00,3.50±1.50,3.00±1.88,3.00±1.63 and 3.00±1.50,respectively,with statistically significant differences(H=32.071,P=0.000,<0.05).The subjective score of cavities in ZTE sequence was better than other signs,but there was no statistically significant difference compared with masses(P=0.297,>0.05),and it compared with diffuse lesions,cord shadows,patchy shadows,and nodules was all different.It was statistically significant(all P<0.05).Conclusion:The ZTE sequence has a high sensitivity to pulmonary diseases,and can be used to detect a variety of signs of pulmonary diseases,especially it has the highest detection rate for pulmonary masses and the best display effect for cavities.Therefore,the ZTE sequence has a certain clinical application value in pulmonary diseases.
