Objective:The purpose of this article is to explore the correlation between inflammation indicators NLR,dNLR,PLR,LMR,S? and the prognosis of gastric cancer, and to provide new biomarkers for the prognosis of gastric cancer. Methods:We performed a retrospective analysis of 221 gastric cancer who were initially treated at Second Affiliated Hospital of Suzhou University from May 1,2012 to May 31,2019.1.According to the receiver operating characteristic(ROC)curve and the area under curve, determine the best cut-off values of NLR,dNLR,PLR,LMR,and S? before treatment.2.Chi-square test was used to analyze the relationship between five inflammation indexes and clinicopathological characteristics of gastric cancer.3.Logistic regression analysis was used to perform multivariate analysis, and independent factors of each inflammatory index were screened.4.Kaplan-Meier method was used to describe the survival curve, and the results were compared using log-rank test.5.COX univariate and multivariate analysis was used to assess the relevant risk factors for overall survival.Results:1.According to the ROC curve, the best cut-off values of NLR,dNLR,PLR,LMR,and S? are 2.8,1.7,211,3.6,and 609,respectively.2.The median survival time of 221 patients was 49.8 months. The 1-year,3-year,and 5-year survival rates of all patients were 80,5%,58.4%,and 45.9%.Compared with patients with low NLR,dNLR,PLR,S?,and high LMR,patients with high NLR,dNLR,PLR,S?,and low LMR had worse overall survival(P<0.05).3.In the univariate analysis,age(P=0.002),degree of differentiation(P=0.001),TNM stage(P<0.001),depth of invasion(P<0.001),lymph node metastasis(P<0.001),NLR(P<0.001)),dNLR(P<0.001),PLR(P=0.008),LMR(P<0.001),and S?(P=0.001)were identified as poor prognostic factors related to overall survival.4.In the multivariate analysis, advanced age(OR=1.665,95%CI=1.102-2.515,P=0.015),poor differentiation(OR=1.948,95%CI=1.252-3.030,P=0.003),depth of infiltration(OR=2.493,95%CI=1.243-4.998,P=0.010),multi-regional lymph node metastasis(OR=2.396,95%CI=1.530-3.753,P<0.001),distant metastasis(OR=2.175,95%CI=1.338-3.536,P=0.002)and high NLR(OR=2.173,95%CI=1.445-3.267,P<0.001)were independent prognostic factors for overall survival. Conclusion:Our research shows that pre-treatment NLR value can be an important biomarker for the prognosis of gastric cancer.
