Objectives:To explore the feasibility of Multi-slice Helical CT(MSCT)in evaluating arterial elasticity in patients with Stanford type B Acute Aortic Dissection(AAD),try to define the scope of arterial elasticity in patients with Stanford type B AAD,determine the relevant influencing factors of arterial elasticity in patients with Stanford type B AAD,therefore, the application value of MSCT in evaluating arterial elasticity in patients with Stanford type B AAD was preliminarily investigated. Methods:The MSCT imaging data of 40 patients in the case group who were admitted to the second affiliated hospital of Kunming medical university between May 2017 to December 2019 diagnosed as Stanford type B AAD and 40 patients in the control group were retrospectively analyzed. The original image data were reconstructed every 5%cardiac cycle. The parameters of the 20 groups of reconstruction sequences were measured and the related indexes of arterial elasticity were calculated.Statistical analysis was carried out on the relevant indexes of case group and control group. At the same time, the clinical data and the laboratory examination results of the case group were collected to analyze the correlation between gender, age, smoking status, complicated pericardial effusion,Intramural Hemorrhage(IMH),Penetrating Aorta Ulcer(PAU),extent of false lumen involvement, total serum triglyceride, total cholesterol levels and Aortic Distensibility(AD)value, one of the arterial elastic parameters in Stanford type B AAD patients. Results:AD and Aortic Compliance(AC)values of Stanford type B AAD patients were smaller than those of the control group. And the Aortic Stiffness Index(ASI)values of Stanford type B AAD patients were bigger than that of the control group. The differences of the above all were statistically significant(P<0.05).The number of patients with grade 3 hypertension in the case group was bigger than that in the control group(P<0.05).People with a history of smoking also showed a higher trend in the case group than in the control group(P<0.05).There was no significant difference in age, gender, diabetes history, serum total triglyceride and total cholesterol between two groups(P>0.05).As the multiple linear regression analysis between possible correlation factors of arterial elasticity and AD value in Stanford type B AAD patients showed that, three factors(smoking status, extent of false lumen involvement,PAU)were related to AD value(P<0.05),while gender, age, complicated pericardial effusion,IMH,total serum triglyceride and total cholesterol levels are uncorrelated to AD value(P>0.05).Conclusions:MSCT can be applied to accurately measure arterial elasticity in patients with Stanford type B AAD.There are significant differences in arterial elasticity related indexes AD,AC and ASI between patients with Stanford type B AAD and non-AAD population.Smoking, extensive involvement of false lumen and combined PAU were risk factors for decreased arterial elasticity in Stanford type B AAD patients.
