Objective:To explore the effect of physical growth on urine gonadotropin and sex hormones in children under 7 years old. Methods:With the premise of "informed consent, independent participation",children under 7 years old in two communities(community A and community B)of Wuxi city were involved.According to the growth and development standard of the World Health Organization in 2006,the physical development evaluation was carried out,and the subjects with age-specific height Z-score(HAZ,reflecting the long-term nutritional status)and age-specific weight Z-score(WAZ,reflecting the short-term nutritional status)were calculated. Two indicators(HAZ and WAZ)in-2SD~2SD were regarded as meeting the physical development criteria of the study.Urine samples were collected overnight and early morning.Urine luteinizing hormone, follicle stimulating hormone and estriol were detected by immunochemiluminescence method.Testosterone was measured in boys. The data were calculated as median. The software of SPSS 20.0 was for statistics and analysis, and P<0.05 represents a statistically significant. Results:The detection rate of LH was low that wasn’t counted.(1)The general situation:In total 3445 children(1658 in community A and 1787 in community B),a total of 1214 children(602 boys and 612 girls)in the group A and 1302 children(686 boys and 616 girls)in group B were involved in the statistical analysis.(2)Girls:The difference in Z scores of HAZ between A and B communities was no significant[0.37 vs.0.26],Z=-1.248,P=0.212.The Z scores of WAZ in group A was higher than that in group B[0.44 vs.0.23],Z=-4.027,P<0.001.The urine follicle stimulating hormone in group A was lower than that in group B[6.910 IU/L vs.7.260 IU/L],Z=-4.548,P=0.026.The difference in urine estriol between A and B communities was no significant[0.097 ug/L vs.0.104 ug/L],Z=-0.767,P=0.054.(3)Boys:The Z scores of HAZ in group A was lower than that in group B[0.31 vs.0.64],Z=-9.062,P<0.001.The Z scores of WAZ in group A was lower than that in group B[0.26 vs.0.43],Z=-2.810,P<0.001.The urine follicle stimulating hormone in group A was lower than that in group B[1.660 IU/L vs.2.083 IU/L],Z=-4.548,P<0.001.The urine testosterone in group A was higher than that in group B[0.540 ng/ml vs.0.500 ng/ml],Z=-3.476,P<0.001.The difference in urine estriol between the two groups was no significant,Z=-0.767,P=0.443.Conclusions:Girls with better nutritional status(including short-term and long-term nutrition)have higher urine FSH level, while boys with better short-term nutritional have lower urine FSH level and higher urine testosterone level.
