Objective: The clinical status of patients with rheumatoid arthritis(RA)accompanied by thyroid dysfunction, metabolic disorders and related treatments in RA patients with thyroid dysfunction was studied. Methods: From November 2017 to April 2019,100 RA patients diagnosed in rheumatology and Immunology Department of our hospital were selected as the observation group, and the control group was 100 healthy people in the physical examination center of our hospital. The routine laboratory examination items, immunological indexes, thyroid function, thyrotropin and autothyroid antibody of RA patients were collected and analyzed by retrospective investigation and analysis. To compare the routine laboratory examination items between RA patients with thyroid dysfunction and RA patients with normal thyroid function,to observe the metabolism of RA patients with abnormal thyroid function, and to further observe the effect of drug treatment on metabolism abnormality. Results: There were 17 cases(17%)in the observation group with abnormal thyroid function, which was higher than 7 cases(7%)in the control group. The difference between the two groups was statistically significant(P < 0.05).Free triiodothyronine and triiodothyronine in the observation group were lower than those in the control group, thyrotropin and antithyroid peroxidase antibody in the observation group were higher than those in the control group(P < 0.05).The difference of cholesterol level between RA patients with abnormal thyroid function and RA patients with normal thyroid function in the observation group was statistically significant(P < 0.05).Binary logistic regression analysis further proved that cholesterol level was significantly correlated with RA combined with abnormal thyroid function(or = 2.426,P < 0.05).Further clinical observation showed that hydroxychloroquine treatment could reduce the cholesterol level of patients, and the difference was statistically significant. Conclusion: Patients with rheumatoid arthritis are more likely to have thyroid dysfunction than normal people;the cholesterol level of patients with rheumatoid arthritis and thyroid dysfunction is higher than that of patients with rheumatoid arthritis;hydroxychloroquine treatment can reduce the cholesterol level of patients with RA and thyroid dysfunction.
