Background:To investigate the expression of Sal-like protein 4(SALL4)and Matrix metalloproteinase 13(MMP13)in epithelial ovarian cancer tissues by immunohistochemistry(IHC),and to analyze the relationship between SALL4 /MMP13 expression and the clinicopathological features of epithelial ovarian cancer.Methods: 46 cases of epithelial ovarian carcinoma and 26 cases of adjacent(> 1.5cm)tissues were collected.IHC was used to detect the expression of SALL4 and MMP13 proteins in ovarian cancer adjacent tissues and epithelial ovarian cancer.To analyze the relationship between the expression of SALL4 /MMP13 in 46 epithelial ovarian carcinoma tissues and clinicopathological features.Results:1.SALL4 protein was highly expressed in the Tumor group(45.7%),while SALL4 protein expression was not detected in the Adjacent group(P <0.05,statistically significant);2.The positive rates of MMP13 in the Adjacent group and Tumor group were 11.3% and 69.6%(P <0.05,statistically significant);3.The positive rate of SALL4 protein in FIGO III-IV stage was 60%,while the positive rate was only 28.6% in stage?-? tissues.(P <0.05,statistically significant).In addition,the positive rate of SALL4 in the poorly differentiated group(54.3%)was much higher than that of the high-medium differentiated group(18.2%),and there was a statistical difference(P <0.05,statistically significant);4.The positive rate of MMP13 protein in the FIGO stage?-? group was 52.4%,while the positive rate in the stage ?-? group was 84.0%(P <0.05,statistically significant);5.The expression of SALL4 and MMP13 was negatively correlated with the survival rate of patients with ovarian cancer.Conclusions: 1.SALL4 and MMP13 are highly expressed in epithelial ovarian cancer tissues,which indicates that SALL4 and MMP13 may be related to the occurrence of epithelial ovarian cancer;2.SALL4 expression is related to the FIGO stage and tumor differentiation;3 The expression of MMP13 is related to the FIGO stage;4.SALL4 and MMP13 are related to the prognosis of ovarian cancer.
