Objective: Upper airway morphology is closely related to obstructive sleep apnea-hypopnea syndrome(OSAHS).Temporomandibular joint structural abnormality is a potential factor affecting the upper airway morphology. This experiment intends to analyze whether there is a certain correlation between the anatomical structure of the temporomandibular joint and the indexes of the upper airway morphology in order to provide a certain reference for the etiology and prevention of OSAHS.Methods: A total of 42 patients who were treated in the Department of Stomatology of Dalian Medical University Hospital from January 2019 to January 2020 were selected. All patients were adults between the ages of 18 and 30.According to the prescribed shooting methods, the CT images of maxillary and maxillary bones of 42 patients were taken and collected, and the following indicators were measured using the digital software MIMISC 17.0 software: Indexes related to the anatomical structure of the temporomandibular joint: linear ratio, anteroposterior and posterior and internal and external diameters, length of the condylar neck, width and height of the articular fossa, posterior oblique slope of the joint nodule, and angle of bilateral mandibular ascending branch abduction;Indicators related to upper airway morphology: length and volume of upper airway pharyngeal, oropharyngeal, and oropharyngeal sections;upper airway pharyngeal upper, upper glossopharyngeal, upper laryngo-pharyngeal sagittal diameter and cross section area.Statistical software SPSS 21.0 was used to analyze the Pearson linear correlation of the measurement results.A positive value of the Pearson correlation coefficient r means that the correlation between the measured data is "positive correlation",and a negative value means "negative correlation".The absolute value of r < 0.3 means no correlation, absolute value of r between 0.3-0.5 indicates weak correlation, absolute value of r between 0.5-0.8 indicates moderate correlation, and absolute value of r between> 0.8 indicates strong correlation.P> 0.05 was considered to be not statistically significant,P <0.05 was considered to be statistically significant, and P <0.01 was considered to be statistically significant. Results: 1.The linear ratio shows a weak negative correlation with the upper area of the upper lingual-pharyngeal plane(P <0.05).The linear ratio represents the sagittal position of the condyles.Anterior displacement,at this time the plane area of the upper boundary of the upper airway glossopharyngeal decreases.2.The linear ratio was moderately negatively correlated with the sagittal diameter of the upper airway glossopharyngeal upper limit(P <0.01),indicating that when the condylar process was displaced, the sagittal diameter of the upper airway glossopharyngeal also decreased.3.The posterior oblique slope of the joint nodules showed a weak positive correlation with the sagittal diameter of the upper airway palatopharyngeal sagittal diameter(P <0.05).The results showed that the posterior oblique slope of the joint nodule decreased and the sagittal sagittal plane of the upper diaphragm Diameter decreases. Conclusion: There is a certain correlation between the anatomic structure of the temporomandibular joint and the morphology of the upper airway. The advancement of the sagittal position of the sacroiliac process and the decrease in the slope of the posterior slope of the temporomandibular joint nodule will cause narrowing of the upper airway.Ventilation disorder caused by this stenosis may be one of the important causes of OSAHS,which needs to be paid enough attention by clinicians.
