Objective:Breast cancer is one of the common malignant tumors in women, which seriously threatens women's health.During the diagnosis and treatment of breast cancer, patients not only bear physical pain, but also suffer psychological distress. In the current diagnosis and treatment process, somatic treatment methods are abundant and timely, but the psychological intervention link is weak. Therefore, this study uses meridian-following meditation to intervene in postoperative patients with breast cancer anxiety, depression, fear of recurrence, impaired sleep quality, and decreased quality of life, while assessing its efficacy and further exploring whether meridian-following meditation can be used as postoperative patients with breast cancer technical means for autonomous psychological intervention. Methods:In this study, breast cancer patients admitted to the Department of Breast Surgery of Jiangsu Cancer Hospital and Department of Breast Diseases of Jiangsu Provincial Hospital were selected as the research subjects. The patients were divided into training groups(64 patients,13 patients lost after 8 weeks, and 51 effective cases). And the control group(66 people,19 people lost after 8 weeks,47 effective cases). On the basis of routine postoperative rehabilitation guidance, the training group conducted meridian-following meditation training on a regular basis, which was performed twice a day for 20 minutes each time for 8 weeks, while the control group was only given conventional postoperative rehabilitation guidance.Three groups of physiological indicators including skin electrical value, heart rate value, and heart rate variability,as well as the State Anxiety Inventory(S-AI),Generalized Anxiety Disorder-7(GAD-7),and Patient Health Questionnaire-9(PHQ-9),Fear of Progression Questionnaire-Short Form(FoP-Q-SF),Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index(PSQI)and Measurement Scale of Quality of Life for Patients with Breast Cancer(FACT-B)to evaluate the intervention effect of meridian-following meditation trainingResults:1.There was no statistically significant difference between the training group and the control group in general demographic variables such as disease stage, course of disease, and age,as well as in physiological indicators and scores on each scale at the time of enrollment(p>0.05);2.Postoperative patients with breast cancer showed significant positive correlations in their electrocardiogram, heart rate, and heart rate variability with S-AI(p<0.001;p<0.001;p<0.001):3.The patients' skin electricity value and heart rate variability were significantly reduced during meridian-following meditation(F=12.81,p<0.001;F=31.69,p<0.001),and there was no statistically significant change in heart rate(F=2.22,p>0.05);4.Compared with before the intervention, the GAD-7,PHQ-9 and FoP-Q-SF scores of the training group patients after the intervention were significantly reduced(F=40.17,p<0.001;F=21.33,p<0.001;F=27.22,p<0.001);meanwhile,there is a significant difference with the control group after eight weeks(t=-9.03,p<0.001;t=-7.84,p<0.001;t=-6.80,p<0.001);There was no statistically significant change in the scores of the control group before and after(F=0.64,p>0.05;F=0.02,p>0.05;F=1.18,p>0.05)5.Compared with before the intervention, the PSQI score of patients in the training group was significantly reduced after the intervention(F=23.23,p<0.001).At the same time, the scores of the patients in the training group after the eight weeks were significantly different(t=-5.81,p<0.001);There was no statistically significant change in the scores of the control group before and after(F=1.66,p>0.05)6.Compared with before the intervention, the FACT-B score of patients in the training group increased significantly after the intervention(F=17.54,p<0.001).At the same time, the scores of the patients in the training group after the eight weeks were significantly different(t=3.58,p<0.01);The score of the control group after eight weeks was significantly higher than the previous test(F=4.23,p<0.05),but it was still significantly lower than the training groupConclusion:Meridian-following meditation training can effectively improve the anxiety and depression of postoperative patients with breast cancer and reduce their fear of recurrence. At the same time,Meridian-following meditation training can effectively improve the sleep quality and improve the quality of life of postoperative patients with breast cancer.And,meridian-following meditation training can be used as a way for breast cancer patients to perform autonomous psychological and behavioral interventions.
