Developmental dysplasia of the hip(DDH)is a common type of hip disease that seriously threatens children's growth, can affect children's limb development and quality of life. Therefore, early diagnosis and early treatment of DDH are very crucial. After DDH surgery, some children have residual deformities with different degrees. Therefore, children with DDH need to be followed up for a long period of time until adolescent bone development stops, and any problems found during the follow-up process should be dealt with in time. The pathology of developmental hip dislocation is mainly manifested in acetabular defects, femoral head dysplasia and non-concentric alignment of the acetabulum. It is one of the most common complex diseases in children's orthopedics.Untimely or incorrect treatment will cause patients Hip joint dysfunction and osteoarthritis occur during adolescence.Previous studies on developmental hip dislocation mostly relied on ordinary X-ray films. Now,magnetic resonance imaging technology can not only provide rich morphological information for the development of the hip joint, but also avoid the harm of ionizing radiation. For a long time, the clinical diagnosis of DDH is based on the naked eyes of doctors combined with medical images which has high requirements for doctors' professional literacy. Here,a quantitative morphological evaluation method for children with DDH with magnetic resonance imaging is proposed. The development of quantitative imaging evaluation methods for developmental dislocation of the hip joint to achieve accurate measurement of hip joint development can not only provide a basis for diagnosis and preoperative planning, but also facilitate the long-term dynamic monitoring after surgery. This method could quantitatively evaluate morphological parameters by automatically measuring the morphological parameters related to DDH pathological changes. The quantitative method specifically includes:preprocessing of magnetic resonance images, segmentation of femur and pelvis, reconstruction of three-dimensional model of hip joint, and CEA,AI and FNA's automatic measurement using algorithms such as thickness search based on image connected domain,3D Hough transform, and least squares fitting. The experimental results were divided into normal group and DDH group. The values of left and right hip angles of normal group were within the clinical normal range, and there was no significant difference between left and right hips.A comparison of the healthy hip and the affected hip of DDH children revealed that the CEA angle of the affected hip was significantly smaller than that of the healthy hip,and the angles of AI and FNA were significantly greater than that of the healthy hip.In line with clinical prior knowledge DDH caused by angle changes. The morphological quantitative assessment method of DDH has important reference value for the preliminary screening, the formulation of surgical plans, and the dynamic follow-up after surgery of DDH in children.
