ObjectivesThe purpose of this study was to explore the status and factors of self-regulation fatigue,self-efficacy and quality of life of patients with primary trigeminal neuralgia To study the role model of self-regulatory fatigue,self-efficacy and quality of life.To provide reference for clinical nursing workers to improve the physical and mental health and quality of life of patients with primary trigeminal neuralgiaMethodsWe recruited 237 patients with primary trigeminal neuralgia admitted to neurosurgery department of one tertiary hospitals from December 2018 to August 2019 in Jinan,Shandong Province.Data collect with Brief Pain Inventory(BPI),Self-Regulation Fatigue Scale(SRF-S),Chronic Pain Self-Efficacy Scale(CPSS),Trigeminal Neuralgia Patients Quality of Life Scale(TNQOLS).Other information included demographic and clinical characteristics. The data were analyzed using SPSS 24.0 and MPLUS 7.4 statistical software.Statistical methods include descriptive statistical analysis, independent sample t-test or one-way ANOVA,multiple linear regression analysis,Pearson correlation analysis, structural equation model analysisResultsA total of 250 questionnaires were enrolled and 237 questionnaires were returned, with a response rate of 94.80%.The detailed information follows as below:1.The total score of self-regulation fatigue was(55.09±6.16),which was above the medium level. The lowest score was emotional fatigue with the mean(SD)of 3.39(0.45),and the highest score was cognitive fatigue with the mean(SD)of 3.50(0.50)Regression analysis showed that the main influencing factors were family income, course of disease and the most severe degree of pain(P<0.05),which can explain 41.4%variation.2.The total score of self-efficacy was(51.68 ± 6.50),which was at medium level. The lowest score was self-efficacy for pain management with the mean(SD)of 1.77(0.39),and the highest score was self-efficacy for physical function with the mean(SD)2.66(0.44).Regression analysis showed that the main influencing factors of self-efficacy were family income, comorbidities, the most severe degree of pain and average level of pain(P<0.05),which can explain 39.3%variance.3.The total score of quality of life was(87.37 ± 7.31),which was at a low level. The lowest score was pain dimension with the mean(SD)of 4.00(0.43),and the highest score was symptom dimension with the mean(SD)2.99(0.47).Regression analysis showed that the main influencing factors of quality of life were family income, course of disease, comorbidities, the most severe degree of pain and current degree of pain(P<0.05),which can explain 46.6%variance.4.Pearson correlation analysis showed that self-regulation fatigue was positively correlated with quality of life scores(r=0.621,P<0.01),self-efficacy and quality of life scores were negatively associated(r=-0.727,P<0.01),self-regulation fatigue and self-efficacy were negatively associated(r=-0.563,P<0.01).5.Self-regulation fatigue could positively predict the quality of life score, and the standardized path coefficient is 0.389(P<0.01).Self-regulation fatigue could negatively predict the self-efficacy,and the standardized path coefficient is-0.753(P<0.01).Self-efficacy could negatively predict the quality of life score, and the standardized path coefficient is-0.783(P<0.01).Structural equation model analysis showed that self-efficacy played a partly mediated role between self-regulation fatigue and quality of life, with the medicate effect accounting for 55.01%of total effect.Conclusion1.Patients with primary trigeminal neuralgia have different levels of self-regulation fatigue, and the influencing factors are family income, course of disease, and the most severe degree of pain.2.Self-efficacy in patients with primary trigeminal neuralgia is in the medium level. The main influencing factors of self-efficacy are family income, comorbidities, the most severe degree of pain and average level of pain.3.The quality of life of the patients with primary trigeminal neuralgia is relatively low.The main influencing factors of the quality of life are the family income, course of disease, comorbidities, the most severe pain and the current pain.4.Self-efficacy plays partly mediating role in the impact of self-regulation fatigue on quality of life.
