Objectives:First-episode schizophrenia patients are vulnerable to external prejudice due to their particularity,and their family members are susceptible to negative cognition such as cognitive fusion,which affects the quality of life.The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of acceptance and commitment therapy on individual mental flexibility and family function in first-episode schizophrenia,with a view to improving the family cohesion and adaptability of patients,and improving life happiness and satisfaction.Methods:Using the method of random sampling,64 first-episode schizophrenic patients and their family members from psychosomatic medicine department of a third-grade grade a hospital in Nanchang city were randomly divided into control group and intervention group.Patients in the control group received drug therapy combined with general mental health education,their families received general mental health education,and the intervention group received acceptance and commitment therapy intervention on the basis of the control group.The intervention time of both groups was the same for 8 weeks.Using Questionnaire of general demographic Questionnaire,Acceptance and Action Questionnaire in the Second Edition,Cognitive Fusion Questionnaire,Family Adaptability and Cohesion Scale,General Self-Efficacy Scale and The Schizophrenia Quality of life Scale respectively before and after intervention in the intervention measure for patients and their families.SPSS 18.0 was used for statistical analysis of the data.P<0.05 indicated that the difference was statistically significant.Results:1.The differences of patients of intervention group were statistically significant(p<0.05)in terms of AAQ,CFQ,family cohesion and adaptability,self-efficacy and quality of life between before and after intervention;and the differences of family members of intervention group were statistically significant(p<0.05)in terms of AAQ,CFQ,family cohesion,adaptability and self-efficacy between before and after intervention.2.The differences of patients of control group were statistically significant(p<0.05)before and after intervention in terms of AAQ,psychology and social factors and symptoms and reaction factor,and weren't statistically significant(p>0.05)in CFQ,family intimacy and adaptability,self-efficacy and motivation and energy factor;the differences of family members of control group between before and after intervention were statistically significant(p<0.05)in the level of in AAQ,CFQ,family cohesion,adaptability and self-efficacy.3.Comparison between the intervention group and the control group:It was found that the AAQ,CFQ and quality of life scores of patients of the intervention group were lower than those of the control group after intervention,and the scores of family cohesion and adaptability and self-efficacy scores of the intervention group were higher than those of the control group.Besides the self-efficacy,the differences of other factors were statistically significant(p<0.05);The AAQ,family cohesion and adaptability and self-efficacy levels of family members in the intervention group were significantly different(p<0.05)from those of the control group after intervention,while the CFQ level wasn't significantly different(p>0.05).Conclusion:1.The family function of patients with first-episode of schizophrenia was more discordant than that of ultra-high-risk schizophrenia patients and healthy individuals.2.Acceptance and commitment therapy can effectively improve the level of psychological flexibility,family cohesion,family adaptability and self-efficacy of first-episode schizophrenia patients,and can improve the quality of life of first-episode schizophrenia patients effectively.3.Acceptance and commitment therapy can effectively improve the level of psychological flexibility,family cohesion,family adaptability and self-efficacy of the family members of first-episode schizophrenia.
