ObjectiveThis study was aimed to investigate the relationship between fasting blood glucose in pregnant women and fetal lateral ventricle width.Methods200 pregnant women meeting the inclusion criteria were enrolled in this study.Based on the systematic ultrasound examination results, they were divided into two groups:control group with normal fetal lateral ventricles(n=169)and observational group with widened fetal lateral ventricles(n=3 1).The clinical baseline characteristics were collected.Linear correlation analysis was used to explore the association between fasting plasma glucose in pregnant women and fetal lateral ventricle width.Logistic regression analysis was used to determine the risk factors of widened fetal lateral ventricles.Results(1)Fasting blood glucose levels were significantly higher in the observational group than the control group(5.17±0.40mmol/L vs.4.60±0.33mmol/L,P<0.001).(2)Linear analysis revealed that fasting blood glucose in pregnant women was positively correlated with fetal lateral ventricle width(r=0.497,P<0.001).(3)Fasting blood glucose(OR=3.668,95%CI:1.446-9.403)in pregnant women was demonstrated to be the independent risk factor for widened fetal lateral ventricles(P=0.006).ConclusionCompared with pregnant women with normal fetal lateral ventricles, the fasting blood glucose levels in pregnant women with widened fetal lateral ventricles were significantly higher.Fasting blood glucose in pregnant women was positively correlated with widened fetal lateral ventricles, and an independent risk factor for widened fetal lateral ventricles.
