Objective: To understand the clinical characteristics of BSI of staphylococcus aureus and explore its drug resistance and risk factors. Methods: We analyzed the cases from of 2012 to 2017 staphylococcus aureus bloodstream infection in Shengjing Hospital of China Medical University, collected, sorted out and analyzed the clinical data, and explored the clinical characteristics and risk factors of staphylococcus aureus BSI.Results: A total of 123 cases of staphylococcus aureus BSI were included in this study, including 91 cases of MSSA(74.0%)and 32 cases of MRSA(26.0%).Length of hospitalization before BSI(OR1.147,95%CI1.058-1.244,P=0.001),history of urologic surgery(OR102.414,95%CI7.151-1466.708,P=0.001),gastric tube insertion before BSI(OR278.521,95%CI18.401-4215.785,P=0.000),previous use of carbapenem antibiotics(OR105.906,95%CI9.485-1182.499,P=0.000)were independent risk factors of MRSA BSI.Patients with a history of alcohol consumption(OR0.033,95%CI0.002-0.457,P=0.011)and ventilator assisted ventilation before BSI(OR0.026,95%CI0.002-0.441,P=0.012)were more likely to develop MSSA BSI.Conclusion: Hospitalization duration before BSI,history of urologic surgery, gastric tube inserting before BSI,previous use of carbapenem antibiotics are independent risk factor of MRSA BSI.Patients with a history of alcohol consumption and ventilator assisted ventilation before BSI should pay more attention to the occurrence of MSSA BSI.
