Objective Four nutritional risk assessment methods,namely MNA-SF,NRS-2002,GNRI and MNA,were used to screen the nutritional risk of elderly inpatients over 60 years of age,the application effects of the four nutritional assessment methods would be analyzed and compared.Methods Four nutritional risk assessment methods were used to screen nutritional risk of 210 inpatients.The body weight,height,calf circumference and upper arm circumference of the inpatients were collected,and the body mass index(BMI)of the inpatients was calculated according to their height and weight measurements.The related laboratory indicators,total protein(TP),serum albumin(ALB),uric acid(UA),cholesterol(TC),triglyceride(TG),high density lipoprotein(HDL-C),low density lipoprotein(LDL-C),hemoglobin(Hb)and lymphocyte count(LY)were collected.According to the MNA specific score,the subjects were divided into two groups: nutritional risk and no nutritional risk.The two groups were compared with general data and laboratory indicators.The incidence of nutritional risk among different age groups,genders and different obesity subjects was compared.The consistency between the four nutritional risk assessment methods and the differences between the several methods were compared using kappa value and McNemar test.The correlation between MNA results and general data,laboratory indicators and other three nutritional risk screening methods was analyzed.Result(1)MNA,NRS-2002,MNA-SF,GNRI assessment methods screened out the number and percentage of nutritionally and non-nutritional risks in hospitalized elderly patients were 128(61%)and 82(39%);79 cases(37.6%),131 cases(62.4%);100 cases(47.6%),110 cases(52.4%);64 cases(30.5%),146 cases(69.5%).(2)The number and incidence of nutritional risk and non-nutrition risk in elderly hospitalized patients with chronic circulatory disease,chronic respiratory disease,cerebral infarction,digestive system disease and diabetes mellitus were 65 cases(59.6%),44 cases(40.4%);14 cases(82.4%),3 cases(17.6%);6 cases(75%),2 cases(25%);14 cases(73.7%),5 cases(26.3%);29 cases(50.9%)and 28 cases(49.1%).(3)The age of the elderly with the nutritional risk group was higher than that of the non-nutrition risk group.The weight,BMI,Hb,LY,TP,ALB,TG,and HDL-C indicators of the nutritional risk group were lower than those of the non-nutrition risk group.The difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).The difference between height,TC and UA was not statistically significant(P>0.05).(4)There was no significant difference in the incidence of nutritional risk among different gender subjects and subjects of different ages(P>0.05).There was a statistically significant difference in the incidence of nutritional risk among hospitalized elderly with different obesity(P<0.05).(5)The ?appa values obtained by MNA with NRS-2002,MNA-SF,GNRI consistency tests were 0.322,0.623,and 0.193,respectively.MNA-SF was highly consistent with MNA,while MNA and NRS-2002 were relatively inconsistent with GNRI.Using the chi-square test of paired data,the differences between the three nutritional assessment methods and MNA in the nutritional risk screening results were statistically significant(P<0.05).(6)MNA has a positive correlation with age,HDL-C,NRS-2002,MNA-SF,GNRI.The difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).There was a negative correlation between MNA and body weight,BMI,LY,Hb,TP,ALB and TG.The difference was statistically significant.(P<0.05);there was no significant difference between height,TC,LDL-C and UA(P>0.05).ConclusionThe incidence of nutritional risk was higher in hospitalized elderly patients.The results of this study showed that MNA-SF was highly consistent with MNA,while the consistency between NRS-2002,GNRI and MNA was relatively poor.
