Objective: To summarize Professor Wen Shaodun's academic ideas,experience of TCM syndrome differentiation and choosing acupuncture points in treating gout systematically and fully.Carving out a new capacious way in the treatment of gout and then guide the clinical as well as bring benefits to patients.Methods: First,the literature review of treating gout with Traditional Chinese Medicine,enumerated physicians who lived in different dynasty and whose opinions in the pathogenesis,as well as the research progress of modern physicians.Second,by the means of following Professor Wen Shaodun to curing outpatients,researching the literature of my mentor's team about gout to researching his TCM clinical thoughts and specialty of theory,methods,pharmaceutical compound,TCM medicine,acupuncture points as well as operation.To summarize the academic ideas,feelings and experiences of Professor Wen Shaodun in treating gout.Third,the retrospective study of fired needle to bleeding in curing acute gouty arthritis.Results: Professor Wen Shaodun believes that gout and metabolic syndrome are caused by the accumulated toxin and the toxin appear everyday.The patients should take medicine for a long term even for a lifelong term.Only in this way,can we got ideal curative effect and then acquire clinical recovery.In clinical practice,decoction of herbal medicine can't be take for long term,but the capsules of Chinese patent medicine could solve this problem.In recent 30 years,guide by the theory of Traditional Chinese Medicine,Professor Wen Shaodun had moved with the time to comprehending gout,and then develop 3 kinds of Chinese patent medicine(Tongfengshu capsule,Suanzhiqing capsule,Zhuoduqing capsule),which have applied to the clinical treatment efficiently and bring benefit to patients.Professor Wen Shaodun is adept at using fired needle to bleeding to treat acute gouty arthritis.Choose Xingjian,Neiting which are Xing acupuncture point;Taichong,Xiangu which are Shu acupuncture point;which are based on the theory that “Xing acupuncture point could cure pyrexia”,“Shu acupuncture point could cure heaviness and arthragia”,combined Diwuhui,Qiuxu,Zhaohai Zulinqi and the affected part which blood stasis severely what we called Ashi acupuncture point.Use fired needle to bleeding could achieve the aim that regulating main and collateral channels,removing blood stasis,improving local blood circulation and erasing pain.Using fired needle to bleeding in the acupoints that choosing according to the theory of TCM could not only alleviate the joint pain and swell,but also reduce the content of blood uric acid.The curative effect would be better if combined with pharmaceutical compound formulating by Professor Wen Shaodun.Conclusion: Professor Wen Shaodun treat gout in the introduction of TCM theory that prevention before disease onset,stopping the progress of disease;treating in different stages,the whole body differentiation;inner treatment combined with external therapy,pay attention to both symptom and the root cause.The therapies are safe and effective,which could be popularized to the clinical treatment.
