Objective: The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship between urinary misfolded proteins and neonatal birth weight of patients with preeclampsia. Methods: Clinical data and neonatal birth weight data were obtained from women with preeclampsia, who were enrolled at the maternity wards of Sheng Jing Hospital affiliated to China Medical University from June 2017 to July 2018.Fresh midstream urine sample were collected from them and detected for misfolded proteins.A total of 126 cases with delivery were collected.According to the results of misfolded proteins detection,99 cases belonged to misfolded protein-positive group and 27 cases were at misfolded protein-negative group.Chi-square test was used to compare the incidence of small for gestational age(SGA)between the two groups;as well as the difference in early onset preeclampsia between the two groups.Logistic regression analysis was used to analyze multiple factors which affect neonatal birth weight, including maternal age, urine misfolded proteins positive, gestational weeks of delivery, abnormal glucose metabolism, abnormal thyroid function, premature rupture of membranes, and oligohydramnios.RESULTS: Among 126 preeclampsia patients, the incidence of SGA in urinary misfolding protein-positive group was 45.5%,which was significantly higher than that of the urinary misfolded protein-negative group(22.2%).The difference was statistically significant(P=0.029 <0.05).The incidence of early onset preeclampsia was higher in the urine misfolded protein-positive group(56.6%)than in the negative group(14.8%),and the difference was statistically significant(P=0.000 <0.05).Patients with preeclampsia who were positive for urinary misfolding protein had a significantly increased risk of delivering newborns small for gestational age(OR=3.447,95% CI: 1.067-11.130);In patients with preeclampsia, oligohydramnios significantly increased risk of newborn small for gestational age,and the risk of occurrence(OR=5.150,95% CI: 1.051-25.242);However,the maternal age, gestational age of delivery, abnormal glucose metabolism, abnormal thyroid function, premature rupture of membranes were not found to be associated with the occurrence of small for gestational age.(P>0.05).Conclusion: In patients with preeclampsia, the incidence of SGA in urinary misfolding protein positive group is significantly increased; The incidence of early onset preeclampsia in urinary misfolded protein-positive patients is clearly increased;urine misfolded protein positive is significant increase the risk of small for gestational age(SGA).Therefore, the detection of urinary misfolded protein is of great significance for the diagnosis of early onset preeclampsia and the determination of fetal prognosis.
