Background:Laparoscopic cholecystectomy(LC)is routinely done for gallstone disease with typical biliary colic;however, its role in treating gallstone disease with atypical symptom is controversial.Purpose:To study the quality of life of gallstone patients with atypical symptom at different periods after laparoscopic cholecystectomy(LC),and to evaluate whether surgery improves the quality of life of these patients.Method:The gastrointestinal quality of life index(GIQLI)was used to evaluate 30 patients who underwent LC from November 2017 to July 2018.General information and detailed records about quality of life were collected before, first month and sixth month after surgery. The GIQLI scores were compared among the three periods. And then, trying to find out the risk factors that affect the change of GIQLI score. Results:There were a total of 28 results, the loss ratio of follow-up was 6%.The quality of life at first month after surgery is significantly different from the preoperative one in GIQLI total scores, symptomatology scores and physiology scores(P<0.05).Although the quality of life at sixth month after surgery is better than the preoperative one, difference of two periods have no statistics significance(P>0.05).Gender,BMI and surgery procedure were not associated with the improvement of quality of life. Conclusions:Bloating is the primary symptom of the atypical gallstone symptoms,it can be relieved at one month after LC.The quality of life at 1 month after surgery was significantly improved, and it was more obvious in terms of symptoms and physiological functions. The quality of life at 6 month after surgery was also improved with no significant difference yet.The study has not found the factors that affect the improvement of quality of life 1 month after surgery, studies with a larger sample size,multi-center clinical trials should be performed.
