Objective : Real-time shear wave elastography(SWE)was used to analyze the elastic modulus and influencing factors of acute mumps and normal parotid tissues in children, and the acute infective parotid glands of children were diagnosed by observation group operating characteristic curve(ROC).The optimal cut-off value of inflammation and its corresponding sensitivity and specificity.Methods:Sixty-seven children with clinically diagnosed acute mumps were selected as observation group.264 healthy children in the same age range were selected as the control group.SWE was performed on the two groups and the relevant Emax and Emean values were recorded.Quantitative analysis and ROC curve were performed;the correlation between the observation group, the control group gender, age, gland layer thickness and Emax value, and Emean value were analyzed.Results:(1)The Emax value of parotid gland in 67 patients in the observation group was(23.69±4.76)kPa,and the Emean value was(19.08±4.44)kPa.(2)The Emax value of parotid gland in 64 children in the control group was(10.14±2.84)kPa,and the Emean value was 8.86.±2.75)kPa.There were significant differences in the Emax value,Emean value and gland thickness between the two groups(P<0.05).(3)There were no significant differences in Emax and Emean between males and girls and left and right parotid glands in the two groups(P>0.05).(4)There was a certain correlation between gland layer thickness and Emax and Emean values in the observation group;there was a certain correlation between the age and gland layer thickness of the control group and Emax and Emean values.(5)The area under the ROC curve corresponding to Emax and Emean values in children with acute infectious mumps was 0.997 and 0.984,respectively,and the best cutoff values were14.95 kPa and 10.05 kPa,respectively. Conclusion:SWE can be used to assess the elastic modulus of parotid gland tissue in children with acute infectious mumps and normal children early and moreaccurately, and to reduce or even eliminate the subjective differences between clinicians in palpation of parotid gland tissue in children with acute infectious mumps. To provide more timely and accurate diagnosis and treatment for this part of the child.
