Objective To explore the clinical effect of lumbar fusion for lumbar degenerative disease and its effect on sagittal balance of spine pelvis. Methods Sixty-four cases of lumbar degenerative disease treated in our hospital from May 2015 to May 2016 were selected as the observation object, all of them were treated with lumbar fusion. The changes in sagittal balance parameters of spine pelvis and symptom scores were observed before and after surgery. Results One year after surgery, the postoperative sacral tilt angle and lumbar lordosis angle were significantly larger than those before surgery(P<0.05),the postoperative sagittal vertical axis and pelvic tilt angle were significantly lower than those before surgery(P<0.05).Compared with preoperative(6.47±1.22),the scores of Visual Analogue Scale were progressively decreased at 1 month(3.41±1.14),3months(2.52±0.44)and 6 months(0.85±0.33)after surgey, and all the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).One year after surgery, the scores of Oswestry Disability Index were significantly lower than those before surgery(P<0.05),and the scores of Japanese Orthopaedic Association were significantly higher than those before surgery(P<0.05).Conclusions Lumbar fusion can improve the symptoms of lumbar degenerative disease, promote the recovery of lumbar physiological protruding, and effectively maintain the sagittal balance of spine pelvis.
