Objective To investigate the level of albumin, lymphocyte–monocyte ratio(LMR),platelet-to-lymphocyte ratio(PLR)before operation on non-muscle invasive bladder cancer(NMIBC)patients can be used as a predictor of recurrence and progression after transurethral bladder resection(TURBT).Methods This study retrospectively analyzed the clinical data of 323 cases of TURBT NMIBC patients in urology department of general hospital of Ningxia Medical university from January 2011 to December 2015.The receiver operating characteristic curve(ROC curve)was used to select the optimal truncation values of three preoperative markers,LMR,PLR and albumin, for assessing the prognosis of NMIBC patients.Kaplan-meier curve was used to analyze the relationship between LMR,PLR and albumin and tumor recurrence and progression, and then log-rank test was used for comparison.Cox proportional risk regression model was used to analyze risk factors for each index. Results The postoperative follow-up time was 26-95 months, and the median follow-up time was 65 months.and the optimal cut-off value was selected through ROC curve analysis.Univariate analysis PLR ?101(HR=0.571,P=0.004)was a predictor of NMIBC relapse, but further multivariate analysis suggested that PLR could not be used as an independent predictor of NMIBC relapse.Multi-factor analysis showed that LMR < 4.02(HR=3.545,P<0.001)and albumin < 37.55(HR=2.066,P < 0.001)were related to NMIBC patients recurrence-free survival(RFS)after surgery,Analyze the progression-free survival(PFS)of NMIBC patients,Preoperative LMR < 3.76(HR=2.347,P=0.010)and albumin <35.45(HR=2.185,P=0.012)were independent prognostic factors of NMIBC patients. Conclusion preoperative LMR and albumin are independent risk factors for postoperative recurrence and progression in NMIBC patients, while PLR is not a prognostic indicator for NMIBC patients.
