Communication is one of the most basic functions peculiar to human beings. However, the study found that special children often have impairment in daily communication due to intelligence, hearing and other reasons.which seriously affects their life and the learning of skills.A scientific assessment tool is needed. However, there are few evaluation tools to reflect the daily communication performance in China. Most of them have some problems, such as incomplete evaluation projects.International Classification of Functioning,Disability and Health: Children and Youth version is a classification system for health status proposed by the World Health Organization. The concept of “participation” provides a theoretical framework for assessing the individual's true performance in daily life.Based on ICF-CY,this study developed a scale to assess the daily communication performance of special children aged 2;0 to 5;11,verified its reliability and validity and realized the conversion of the original score and the ICF-CY qualifier.Besides,to provide basis for the intervention training, the current situation of daily communication of special children aged 2;0 to 5;11 was investigated. The main contents and results of this study include the following ones:.1.Development of Communication Participation Assessment Scale The items related to children's communication participation in ICF-CY were screened, and the specific questions were compiled.Modification of the scale by semantic analysis,Delphi method and the test of typical development children.Subsequently,Project analysis and exploratory factor analysis were performed on the results of 288 special children aged 2;0-5;11.The formal scale includes 46 questions,42 questions were included in the main scale, divided into four dimensions: pre-linguistic,simple oral, complex oral and conversation, and graphic symbolic communication. The supplementary scale is the use of special skills with four questions.2.Test of Communication Participation Assessment Scale and conversion of the ICF-CY qualifier 168 special children aged 2;0 to 5;11 were assessed with the main scale. The difficulty is 0.311 to 0.803;the discrimination is 0.328 to 0.936;Internal consistency is 0.979;Split-half reliability is 0.901;The correlation coefficient between each subscale score and the total score is 0.813 to 0.957,and the correlation coefficient between each subscale is 0.569 to 0.836,which is moderately highly correlated and less than the correlation between this dimension and the total score, indicating a good constructive validity. In addition,516 typical development children aged 2;0-5;11 were assessed to convert between the original score and the ICF-CY qualifier.3.Analysis of communication participation of special children aged 2;0-5;11.Based on the analysis of 456 special children aged 2;0-5;11,it is found that communication participation impairment are common among special children.Special children develop unevenly in different dimensions. The performance of children with different types is also different, suggesting that in intervention, teachers should formulate individual intervention programs. The main innovations of this study: 1.This study developed a scale that can quickly and effectively assess children's daily communication performance. The scale is moderately difficult, with high discrimination, good reliability and validity.2.This study achieved the conversion of raw points and ICF-CY limits. The practical application of ICF-CY in the specific evaluation practice enriches the application of ICF-CY in the field of clinical evaluation in China.3.This study enriches the research on daily communication performance of special children in China by analyzing the current situation of special children aged 2;0-5;11.
