Research On Relationship Between Serum Uric Acid Level And Retrobulbar Blood Flow Parameters In Patients With NAION

Objective: In order to investigate the correlation between uric acid(UA)levels and retrobulbar blood flow measured by color doppler ultrasonography in patients with nonarteritic anterior ischemic optic neuropathy(NAION).Methods: Totally 76 patients(76 eyes)with NAION who had been admitted to the Fourth Affiliated Hospital of China Medical University between March 2016 and February 2018 were retrospectively analyzed,collected the value of serum uric acid(UA)and retrobulbar blood flow measured by Color Doppler.Including ophthalmic artery(OA),central retinal artery(CRA),short posterior ciliary artery(PCA)peak systolic velocity(PSV),end-diastolic velocity(EDV)and resistance index(RI).The differences in serum UA values and retrobulbar blood flow parameters between the NAION group and the normal control group were compared.And the NAION group serum UA values were analyzed.Results: The PSV of OA,CRA and PCA in patients with NAION were significantly decreased,while the RI significantly increased.The EDV value of PCA and CRA is significantly reduced.PSV of OA(t=-2.13,P=0.02),RI(t=2.51,P=0.03),PSV of CRA(t=-16.03,P=0.00),EDV(t=-17.27,P=0.00),RI(t=5.21,P=0.00),PSV of PCA(t=-24.87,P=0.00),EDV(t=-16.36,P=0.00),RI(t=6.13,P=0.00).UA value correlates with retrobulbar blood flow in NAION patients.Partial correlation analysis showed that the EDV of CRA had a significant correlation(r=-0.285,P=0.014)with UA.The PSV of PCA has a significant correlation with the value of the UA value in NAION patients(r=-0.590,P=0.000).The EDV of PCA is related to the UA value(r=-0.356,P=0.027).Conclusions: In patients with NAION,retrobulbar blood flow decreased significantly.Serum UA levels were significantly correlated with retrobulbar blood flow,and serum UA levels and color Doppler ultrasonography can be used to objectively assess NAION eye blood supply.
