ObjectiveTo analyze the major computered tomography(CT)imaging characters of children with nutcracker syndrome(NCS),seeking for any valuable sign of renal congestion and related clinical variables.MaterialsA consecutive series of 86 NCS cases from our hospital during the years of 2016-2018 were retrospectively collected.Major CT imaging indexes including aortomesenteric angle(AMA),ratio of left renal vein(LRV)and the CT degree of difference in corticomedullary enhancement(DCE)and ratio of collateral circulation between medullary from two kidneys in the nephrographic phase of computed tomography were identified and compared 24-h protein and ratio of hematuria by SPSS 17.0.For imaging features with significant statistical difference, all cases were further reviewed to understand their radiological and clinical basis.Results1.Renal Congestion Group A vs Non-renal Congestion Group A: AMA(t =-3.405,P=0.001,<0.05),ratio of LRV(t =-3.402,P=0.001,<0.05),ratio of collateral circulation(c2=6.100,P=0.040,<0.05)and the value of DCE(Z=7.857,P=0.000,<0.05)showed significant difference.2.Renal Congestion Group B vs Non-renal Congestion Group B: AMA(t=-2.779,P=0.008,<0.05),ratio of LRV(Z=-2.639,P=0.008,<0.05),the value of DCE(t=10.753,P=0.000,<0.05)and 24-h protein(Z=-2.055,P=0.041,<0.05)showed significant differences, respectively.ConclusionWhen coexisting with smaller ratio of LRV and lower ratio of collateral circulation, the smaller the AMA is,the bigger the DCE is for NCS.It is supposed that 24-h protein would increase under this situation.
