Objective: To analyze the value of bronchoscopy in the diagnosis and treatment of pediatric hemoptysis. Methods: The retrospective analysis was performed on the bronchoscopic manifestations and clinical data in the children patients with hemoptysis as the chief complaint admitted to the Children's Hospital affiliated to Chongqing Medical University from January 2012 and December 2014.Results: Among 99 children cases of hemoptysis,88 cases were found the relatively exact causes of hemoptysis. The most common cause was the lower respiratory tract infection, and idiopathic pulmonary hemosiderosis(IPH)was the most common disease in the non-infection causes.Other diseases such as vascular malformation, bronchiectasis, foreign bodies can also cause hemoptysis.Active hemorrhage was observed in 2 cases and tracheal hemostatic drug lavage was effective.Hypoxemia occurred in 1 case, and transient fever was the most complication postoperatively. Conclusion: Bronchoscopy is one of the necessary clinical examinations in the diagnosis and treatment of pediatric hemoptysis, which can reduce the misdiagnosis rate and missed diagnosis rate of the etiology of hemoptysis, and is relatively safe and reliable.
