Autologous adipose tissue is the ideal soft tissue filling material in the clinic,with the advantages of easy access,wide source and high biocompatibility.Granular fat grafting can naturally reshape facial contours and improve facial aging.However,the absorption rate of granular fat graft is highly unpredictable.In addition,in the fine parts of the face and neck,such as small grooves,wrinkles,eyelids,perioral,cervical stripe and scar tissues,granular fat is difficult to be injected into the dermis layer.Nanofat is an emulsified suspension derived from adipose tissue,which can be injected into the dermis layer through a small injection needle and is rich in stromal vascular fraction(SVF),adipose-derived stem cells(ADSCs)and various Cytokines.Recent studies have shown that nanofat grafting can play a good role in improving skin aging,scar treatment and wound healing.This article reviews the production,clinical application and mechanism of action of nanofat.
