Objective: This paper aims to explore whether there is a certain relationship between systemic immune inflammatory index(SII)and esophageal squamous cell carcinoma staging. Methods: Retrospective analysis was performed on the clinical data of 70 cases of esophageal squamous cell carcinoma newly diagnosed in department of thoracic and cardiac surgery of chongqing medical university, and the correlation between SII and tumor stage was analyzed. Results: Systemic inflammatory index was significantly correlated with tumor stage, but the correlation was weak. The average value of the SII is 502.69 with the stage for Ⅰand Ⅱ,while the stage for Ⅲand Ⅳ,the average value of the SII is 700.74.Comparing the SII of two groups, the difference was statistically significant(P = 0.025).The ROC curve was used to determine that the SII boundary value was 565.94,and the sensitivity and specificity were 0.615 and 0.727 respectively. The clinical and pathological characteristics of the two groups were analyzed, and thestaging data of the two groups were compared, with statistically significant differences(P=0.002).Conclusion: There may be a certain correlation between the systemic inflammatory immune index and the stage of esophageal squamous cell carcinoma, which may be related to the prognosis of esophageal squamous cell carcinoma.
