Objective: Investigate the value of CTCs detection technology in the differential diagnosis of benign and malignant GGN,and determine whether it can be used as a qualitative diagnostic method for GGN.Methods: CTCs tests were performed in Nanjing Chest Hospital Affiliated to Medical School of Southeast University on the following patients,40 patients with GGN,15 patients diagnosed with benign disease(negative control group)and 15 patients diagnosed with invasive adenocarcinoma(positive control group).Analyze the relationship between CTCs and the clinical and pathological characteristics of GGN patients. Results: 1 The number of the CTCs in peripheral blood of patients with negative control,GGN,and positive control groups gradually increased.2 There was no statistically significant difference among different age groups(<60 years old and ?60 years old),gender and different lesion locations.3.There was a positive correlation between the number of the CTCs and the diameter of lesions.4 The difference in the number of the CTCs among different pathological types and different TNM staging groups was statistically significant.IA group was higher than the others.T1 b N0M0 group was higher than T0 group,Tis N0M0 group, and T1a(mi)N0M0 group.5.The sensitivity of CTCs to detect malignant nodules was 70.6%(36/51),and specificity was 78.9%(15/19).7.The positive rate of CTCs to detect malignant nodules was higher than that of serum tumor markers, the former was 63.89% and the latter was 11.11%.Conclusion: CTCs detection technology is of great significance for the differential diagnosis of benign and malignant GGN.It can provide an objective basis for early detection and earlier diagnosis of lung cancer. It also has potential value in lung cancer metastasis screening, dynamic monitoring, prognosis evaluation and so on.
