PURPOSE:This study aims to research and develop a applicable virtual surgical software for oral and craniomaxillofacial surgery with independent intellectual property rights.And then we select clinical cases to evaluate the feasibility of planning virtual surgeries and verify the accuracy of it.This software can be integrated to the virtual surgical system of the surgical robot,and then can be carried out on the oral and cranialmaxillofacial surgical robot in an accurate and effective operation control model.METHODS:The development and design of oral and craniomaxillofacial virtual surgical software with independent intellectual property rights which is based on Microsoft Visual Studio 2015 software and VTK7.1.1 tool kit software.The clinical implementation research of oral and cranialmaxillofacial virtual surgery software and the precision verification of oral and cranialmaxillofacial virtual surgical software by comparing with the mainstream commercialized virtual surgical planning software SimPlant.RESULTS:The virtual surgical software “CMF Robot Plan” for oral and craniomaxillofacial surgical robot with independent intellectual property rights has been established.Through the verification of clinical cases,this software basically conforms to the needs of virtual surgical planning.By comparing with the commercialized virtual surgical planning software to verify the accuracy,the error analysis of the distance and angle shows that nearly all the points are within the 95% uniform line with the Bland-Altman method.Then we calculate the ICC(intraclass correlation coefficient): the distance measurement value is 0.994,the Angle measurement value is 0.987,both of them were greater than 0.75.CONCLUSIONS:1.The virtual surgical software with independent intellectual property rights verified by clinical cases basically can complete the common operations of virtual surgery design and planning in oral and cranialmaxillofacial surgery.2.Compared with mainstream commercial virtual surgical software SimPlant to verify the accuracy,statistical results indicate that the two softwares are in good consistency in the measurement of distance and angle.3.Under the establishment of oral and craniomaxillofacial virtual surgical software with independent intellectual property rights and open source codes,the virtual surgical software can be connected with the surgical robot by the data communication.Then the next step of the surgical robot with accurate and safe operation control will be achieved.
