ObjectiveThe aim of this study was to research the prevalence of scapular dyskinesis and the classification in the shoulder disorders, cervical diseases and the normal person,to explore optimum test position of Kibler's classification.MethodA total of 306 research objects, aged between 20 to 60 years old, were included,102 of which were in the shoulder disorders group,102 of which were in the cervical diseases group and 102 of which were in the normal control group. The palpation based on visual inspection was used by three clinical doctors to judging whether exist scapular dyskinesis and its Kibler's classification at the rest, flexion, abduction and scaption abduction position of bilateral scapular. The prevalence of scapular dyskinesis and ratio of different classifications in the shoulder disorders group, the cervical disease group and the normal control group, and the influence of test position to the prevalence of scapular dyskinesis, were calculated.ResultThe overall prevalence of scapular dyskinesis was 90.08% in the shoulder disorders group,64.71% in the cervical diseases group and 1.96% in the normal control group. In the shoulder disorders group, the prevalence of scapular dyskinesis was81.37% at the rest position and about 40% at flexion, abduction and scaption abductionpositions. In the cervical diseases group, the prevalence rate of scapular dyskinesis was52.94% at the rest position, and 35.29% at flexion, abduction and scaption abduction positions. In the normal control group, the prevalence of scapular dyskinesis was 1.96%at the rest position, and 0.98% at flexion, abduction and scaption abduction positions. At the rest position, the prevalence of each type of Kibler's classification was type III>type I> type II in the shoulder disorders group and type III> type II> type I in the cervical diseases group. At flexion, abduction and scaption abduction positions, the prevalence of each type of Kibler's classification was type III> type II> type I both in the shoulder disorders group and the cervical diseases group. There was a significant difference about the overall prevalence of scapular dyskinesis, the prevalence at each test position and the prevalence of each type of Kibler's classification(p< 0.05).The same object, there was a significant difference of Kibler's classification at each test position(p< 0.05).ConclusionThe shoulder disorders or cervical diseases may lead to scapular dyskinesis, the normal control group also has a possibility of scapular dyskinesis, but the rate is extremely low.The prevalence of scapular dyskinesis in the shoulder disorders group and the cervical diseases group were significantly greater in the normal control group. At rest position, the prevalence of scapular dyskinesis in the shoulder disorders group was greater than the cervical diseases group. There were no different about the prevalence of scapular dyskinesis at anteflexion, abduction and scaption positions,do not need to increase the anteflexion position when assessment. The prevalence of scapular dyskinesis at the rest position was greater than the arm dynamic motion positions. The same object,in each position may present different types of Kibler's classification.
