Objective: Posterior crossbite correction is common in orthodontic treatment.Different treatment methods are selected according to clinical condition.The purpose of this study is to evaluate the success rates of a New Cantilever Type Appliance(NCTA)used for treatment of posterior crossbite.Methods: This retrospective study included 14 patients(7 female and 7 male).The NCTAs were used to support one or more posterior teeth crossbite,unilateral or bilateral crossbite.Treatment was considered successful if it could achieve a satisfactory outcome of function and esthetics.The patients were asked to evaluate their comfort perception during the treatment procedureResults: After three to four months,the posterior crossbite was corrected,and after full-mouth orthodontic treatment,all patients received good functional and aesthetic features.In the one-year follow-up period,no relapse was reported.Comfort perception was good.Conclusions: The NCTA is a reliable method of correcting posterior crossbite accompanied by a convenient and comfortable treatment experience... |
