Abstract/Summary:
Objective: To investigate the efficacy of ultrasound-guided foam sclerotherapy for the small saphenous varicose vein. Methods: Between August 2016 and January 2017,we select32petients(32limbs)with incompetent small saphenous varices associated with CEAP clinical grade 2-4 disease, who under went vascular surgery from the First Affiliated Hospital of Chongqing Medical University.31 patients were unilateral lower extremities, one of them was bilateral lower extremities.Ultrasound-guided foam sclerosing agent(Polidocanol)was used to embolize the small saphenous vein trunk and varicose viens at one time, and the patients were followed up regularly for 3 months after operation to understand the small saphenous vein occlusion and postoperative complications. Results: All the 32 patients(33 limbs)were successfully treated with sclerosant form, follow up at the third postoperative month showed well closed varicose veins in the 31 cases(32 limbs),without serious complications such as sural nerve damaged, deep vein thrombosis, ect. Conclusion: Ultrasound-guided foam sclerotherapy is effective in treating the small saphenous varicose vein of the lower extremities with high efficacy.
