Objective: To analyze the prognostic value of programmed death factor ligand 1(PD-L1)in gastrointestinal cancer. Methods: Electronic databases including PubMed,Web of Science,Embase, and Cochrane library,CNKI,Wanfang data,VIP,CMCC were searched to identify studies evaluating the PD-L1 expression and overall survival(OS)in these patients.Afterwards, the relevant data were extracted to perform the meta-analysis by using Stata12.0.Results: A total of 3116 cases were included in 14 studies.1575 cases of gastric cancer and 1541 cases of colorectal cancer. The combined hazard ratio(HR)was HR=1.71,95%CI(1.23,2.36),P=0.001,indicating that high expression of PD-L1 was significantly correlated with poor prognosis of gastrointestinal cancer.Subgroup analysis revealed in gastric cancer group HR=1.76,95%CI(1.03,3.00),P=0.038 and colorectal cancer group HR=1.61,95%CI(1.16,2.25),P=0.005.And conclusion was also confirmed in the subgroup analysis. Conclusion: The expression of PD-L1 can be utilized as a factor in judging the prognosis of gastrointestinal cancer.
