Correlation Between Serum IL-6 And Metabolic Markers In Patients With Tumor Cachexia

Objective:To investigate the effect of interleukin-6(IL-6)on the metabolism of patients with tumor cachexia,and provide more evidence for the etiology,early diagnosis and treatment of tumor cachexia.Methods:Seventy patients with tumor dyscrasia diagnosed by our hospital from September2017 to May 2018 and 10 normal controls were enrolled.Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay(ELISA)was used to detect serum IL-6.And C-reactive protein(CRP)levels,using AU5800 biochemical analyzer to detect?-hydroxybutyrate,blood glucose,and other biochemical indicators,and serum IL-6and CRP,?-hydroxybutyrate,blood sugar The correlation between the indicators was statistically analyzed.Results:There was a significant correlation between serum IL-6 concentration and blood metabolic markers CRP,?-hydroxybutyrate and blood glucose in patients with tumor dyscrasia(P<0.05).There was a significant positive correlation between IL-6 and CRP(r value was 0.386).There was a negative correlation between IL-6 and?-hydroxybutyrate and blood glucose(r values were-0.356,-0.530,respectively).Conclusion:1.The increase of serum IL-6 concentration was related to the changes of cachexia metabolism in tumor patients.2.The determination of serum IL-6 concentration is expected to be one of the indexes to evaluate the cachexia of tumor.3.When conducting a preliminary nutritional assessment of cancer patients,attention should be paid to other criteria at the same time.Such as decreased muscle strength,fatigue,anorexia,fat-free(FFM)and abnormal biochemical indicators(high C-reactive protein,low albumin,low hemoglobin),etc.It is beneficial to the early identification and early intervention of cachexia.
