Objective:This study was to summarize the treatment and prognosis of extensive-stage primary small-cell esophageal carcinoma. Methods:We retrospectively analyzed the clinical data of 33 Patients with extensive-stage PESCC from the Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences Cancer Hospital between January 2002 and March 2018.Results:The overall survival of the 33 patients ranged between 1.5 and 35.96 months with a median of 14.8 months. All of the patients suffered from extensive metastasis.Among these patients,one-and two-year survival rates were 60.6%and 12.1%,respectively.Univariate multivariate analysis results revealed that the method of treatment(P=0.025)and the first-line chemotherapy(P=0.042)are the risk factors of OS.Multivariate analysis results revealed that the first-line chemotherapy is the only independent risk factor(P=0.023).Conclusion:The extensive-stage PESCC is a malignant tumor with poor prognosis.Chemotherapy could be considered as an effective treatment. The first-line chemotherapy maybe a important factor of prognosis. |
