ObjectiveRadiotherapy Enteritis is a common complication in Pelvic Tumor Radiotherapy and Radiation Proctitis is the most common.Acute Radiation Proctitis could often be timely diagnosed and treated as it appears during the course of radiotherapy. But the Chronic Radiation Proctitis following the radiotherapy 6 months later or even longer will be ignored often because of low rate of treatment. With varied symptoms,it is severely affecting clients quality of life.In present, treatments to the chronic radiation proctitis mainly include anti-inflammatory,hormonotherapy,intestinal mucosa prorectant, intestinal probiotics, enteral nutrition support, hyperbaric oxygen etc. Those severe ones need surgical operation.Since ancient times, the Traditional Chinese medicine has been promoting the idea of making prevention before disease onset, and puts forward that prevention is always better than cure.In my study, moxibustion treatment on Qihai,Guanyuan,Shenque will be adopted during the course of Radiotherapy,in order to observe the therapeutic effect of moxibustion treatment on reducing the incidence of chronic Radiotherapy Enteritis.Methods60 cases of the patients who recived the intensity modulated radiation therapy(IMRT)from October 2014 to July 2017 in our department were divided into moxibustion group and observe group. The moxibustion group gave the therapy of moxibustion on the acupunture point of Shenque,Qihai,Guanyuan and smectite orally, while the observe group take smectite orally only.To observe the morbidity rate and the severit of Chronic Radiation Proctitis.Results1.There were 27 effective data(the mean age is 56.81)in moxibustion group and 28 effective data(the mean age is 55.07)in observe group. There was no significant difference in age between the two groups(P=0.538>0.05).2.The stage ??? of moxibustion group was respectively of 6(22.2%),8(29.6%),7(25.9%),6(22.2%)patients,and the observe group stage ?-? was respectively 4(14.2%),11(39.2%),5(17.8%),8(28.5%)patients.There was no significant difference in clinical staging between the two groups(P=0.681>0.05).3.In the moxibustion group, there were 8 patients with chronic radiation proctitis, the incidence rate of chronic radiation proctitis is 29%,the number of cases above grade 2 of RTOG was 6,and the incidence of severe chronic radiation proctitis was 22%.A total number of 10 patients in the observe group had symptoms of chronic radiation proctitis. The incidence of chronic radiation proctitis is 35%.The number of cases above grade 2 of RTOG is 9,and the incidence of severe chronic radiation proctitis is 35%.There was no significant difference in the incidence of chronic radiation proctitis between the two groups(P=0.436>0.05),but the incidence of the moxibustion group was slightly lower than that of the observe group. There was no significant difference in the incidence of severe chronic radiation proctitis between the two groups(P=0.413>0.05).Comparison and distribution of HGB before and after treatment in moxibustion group and observe group:The moxibustion group before treatment the lowest HGB value was 66g/L,the highest value was 134g/L,and the average value was 104.81g/L.In the observe group before treatment, the lowest HGB value was 74g/L,the highest value was 123g/L,and the average value was 102.96g/L.In the moxibustion group after treatment, the lowest HGB value was 69g/L,the highest value was 135g/L,the average value was 103.64g/L.In the observe group after treatment, the lowest HGB value was 72g/L,the highest value was 126g/L,the average value was 98.14g/L.The HGB value before treatment in moxibustion group and observe group showed that there was no significant difference between the two groups(P=0.829>0.05).The HGB value in moxibustion group and observe group after treatment was suggested that there was no significant difference(P=0.181)0.05).The HGB concentration in moxibustion group before and after treatment,(P=0.054>0.05),which indicated that there was no significant difference in HGB concentration before and after treatment in moxibustion group. The HGB concentration before and after treatment in the observe group,the(P=0.038<0.05),which was statistically significant, suggesting that the HGB in the observe group decreased significantly after treatment. The decrease in moxibustion group was lower than that in the observe group(1%vs 4%),Suggesting that moxibustion in the Qihai,Guanyuan,Shenque may have the effect of inhibiting the decrease of HGB in the patients with cervical cancer treated by pelvic radiotherapy.ConclusionMoxibustion can reduce the incidence of chronic radiation proctitis after radiotherapy of cervical cancer, and reduce the incidence of severe chronic radiation proctitis.Moxibustion can also reduce the decrease of HGB concentration in patients with Cervical Cancer treated by radiotherapy.
