Objective:In order to explore the correlation between knee osteoarthritis and hallux valgus,we studied the patients with knee osteoarthritis in the middle and late stages of three orthopaedic departments of Guangdong Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine, and analyzed the prevalence of knee osteoarthritis in this population,in order to explore the risk factors of the disease and provide scientific and effective measures for the prevention and treatment of knee osteoarthritis.Method:A retrospective analysis was made of 310 patients(126 males and 184 females, with an average age of 68.94 persons,6.39 years)with knee osteoarthritis treated in Guangdong Provincial Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine(Affiliated Hospital of Guangzhou University of Traditional Chinese Medicine)from January 2017 to December 2018.Basic personal information, gender, age, body mass index(BMI),whether there is hallux valgus, the severity of hallux valgus, admission symptoms of traditional Chinese medicine and other information. The influencing factors of knee osteoarthritis were analyzed by single factor analysis. The level of C2 test was P<0.05.The proportion of non-hallux valgus, mild hallux valgus, moderate hallux valgus and severe hallux valgus in knee osteoarthritis in the middle and late stages was analyzed by Spearman grade correlation test, and the correlation between them was analyzed,P<0.05 was statistically significant.Result:A total of 310 patients were enrolled in this study, including 126 males(40.6%)and 184 females(59.4%).The average age was 68.94,6.39 years old,59 patients(19.0%)aged less than 50 years old,167 patients(53.9%)aged less than 70 years old,84 pati ents(27.1%)aged over 70 years old,59 patients(19.0%)aged less than 50 years old,78 patients(25.2%)with BMI less than 23 kg/m2<25 kg/m2,147 patients(47.4%)with BMI.>85 cases(27.4%)had no hallux valgus,55 cases(47.4%)had mild hallux valgus,76 cases(24.50%)had moderate hallux valgus,126 cases(40.6%)had moderate hallux valgus and 53 cases(17.1%)had severe hallux valgus. In TCM syndromes, there were 40 cases(12.9%)of liver and kidney deficiency,185 cases(59.7%)of spleen and kidney deficiency,85 cases(27.4%)of blood stasis.C2 showed that age, sex,BMI and hallux valgus were risk factors for knee osteoarthritis in the middle and late stages(P<0.05).Spearman grade correlation test showed that no,mild, moderate and severe hallux valgus were positively correlated with the severity of knee osteoarthritis in the middle and late stages. Conclusion:Obesy and hallux valgus are risk factors for knee osteoarthritis. The severity of hallux valgus is positively correlated with the severity of knee osteoarthritis in middle and late stages.
