Objective:To investigate the changes of multi-focal visual evoked potentials(multifocal visual evoked potential,mVEP)in Esotropia children before and after operation, and their relationship with the recovery of binocular vision function, and to provide a new basis for the evaluation of curative effect after esotropia operation.Method:103 patients with in-situ strabismus in our hospital(some patients were lost to follow-up)were divided into three groups: esotropia and normal vision group, esotropia and mild to moderate amblyopia group and esotropia and severe amblyopia group. The mVEP test was performed on the preoperative and postoperative 1,3,and 6 months of the above groups using the RETIScan 3.20 multifocal electrophysiometer. The mVEP index of each group was statistically analyzed. All subjects underwent visual examination, anterior segment, posterior segment examination, eye movement, eye position and binocular visual three-level functional examination.SPSS 22.0 line statistical analysis, analysis of variance,chi-square test and correlation analysis were used to analyze the data results. There was a statistical difference at P < 0.05.Result: 1.Comparison of latency and amplitude response density of six centrifugal degrees of mVEPThere was no significant difference in the latency and amplitude response density of mVEP between the rings before and after operation in the esotropia with normal visual acuity group. In the group of esotropia with mild and moderate amblyopia, the latency of mVEP characteristic peak was shorter and the density of amplitude response was higher than that before operation, and the first and second rings of amplitude response density were significantly increased at 3 and 6 months after operation. In patients with esotropia and severe amblyopia, the latency of characteristic peak and the density of amplitude response in patients with esotropia and severe amblyopia were slightly shorter and slightly higher than those before operation, and there was no significant difference between the two groups.2.Comparison of latency and amplitude response density of mVEP in the upper and lower half of the retinaThere was no significant difference between postoperative strabismus and normal visual acuity in the normal strabismus and preoperative visual acuity. The amplitude response density of the mVEP characteristic peak increased significantly after the postoperative esotropia and mild to moderate amblyopia group. There was a statistical difference, and the latency was shortened, but there was no statistical difference. The amplitude response density of mVEP in the strabismus and severe amblyopia group was slightly increased, and the latency was shortened, but there was no significant change.3.Comparison of latency and amplitude response density of mVEP in nasal and temporal retinalThere was no significant difference in mVEP incubation period, amplitude reaction density and preoperative comparison between postoperative esotropia and normal vision group, and the amplitude reaction density of mVEP in postoperative esotropia and mild to moderate Amblyopia group increased, the difference was statistically significant in 3 June, and the amplitude reaction density nasal side was significantly higher than the temporal side. The nasal and temporal retinal mVEP were balanced, the incubation period did not change significantly, the amplitude reaction density of the Amblyopia group was increased, the incubation period was shortened, but there was no statistical difference, and the degree of mVEP amplitude reaction density of the nasal and temporal retina was close, and the retinal mVEP of the nasal and temporal sides were not balanced.4.The restoration of binocular visual function and the relationship with the mVEP of the retina in the nasal cavitySimultaneous aspect,,all patients with esotropia were significantly improved after operation. In terms of fusion function, patients with strabismus and normal vision and strabismus and mild to moderate amblyopia had significant improvement after operation, while patients with strabismus and Amblyopia had no significant changes before and after surgery. In stereo vision, patients with normal strabismus and visual acuity had significant recovery, and the patients with visual acuity and 0.6~0.8 were significantly improved by strabismus and mild to moderate Amblyopia group. The recovery of binocular visual function after operation was positively correlated with the balance degree of retinal mVEP in the nasal temporal side.Conclusion:1.The visual conduction pathway after operation in patients with Esotropia and amblyopia can be restored to different degrees, the degree of amblyopia is different, the recovery degree of the nasal temporal retinal visual conduction pathway is different, the nasal temporal side multifocal visual evoked potentials tend to be balanced in patients with mild to moderate amblyopia, and the lateral multi-focal visual evoked potentials in patients with severe amblyopia remain unbalanced.2.The recovery of binocular visual function after operation in patients with Esotropia was positively correlated with the equilibrium degree of retinal multifocal visual evoked potentials in the nasal temporal side.
