Background&Purpose:Signet-ring cell carcinona(SRCC)of the breast is a rare type of breast cancer with the lack of evidence-based guidelines and clinical researches,it is important to analyze the clinicopathological features and prognostic factors of patients with SRCC of the breast. Methods:Using the National Cancer Institute’s Surveillance,Epidemiology, and End Results(SEER)database,we identified 259 patients with SRCC of breast from 1973 to 2015.Univariate and lultivariate Cox proportional hazards models were performed to identify prognostic factors affecting the overall survival(OS),competing risk models were used to assess prognostic factors about breast cancer-specific survival(BCSS).Finally,a nomogram to predict individuals’ prognosis of the patients with breast SRCC.Results:Age>51 was a risk factor affecting the overall survival of SRCC,and ER-positive,surgery were protective factors. The risks of death in the patients of T4 and any T with metastasis were increased compared with patients of stage T1(all p<0.05).After excluding confounding factors related non-tulor deaths, multivariate analysis revealed that T stage,N stage and surgery were independent prognostic factors for BCSS(all p<0.05),whereas age, race,M stage, grade,ER status,PR status, radiation and chemotherapy were not independent prognostic factors of BCSS.Conclusions:Age,T stage,ER status, surgery were independent prognostic factors affecting the OS in SRCC of breast.T stage,N stage, and surgery were independent prognostic factors for the BCSS of breast signet-ring cell carcinoma.Nomogram can effectively predict the individuals’ prognosis in SRCC of breast.
