ObjectiveThe life quality after radical gastrectomy for gastric cancer is affected by the type of gastrectomy. The Japanese post-gastrectomy syndrome assessment scale(pgsas-45)was used to study 116 patients undergoing radical gastrectomy of gastric cancer in our clinic centre retrospectively to analyze the various factors of the quality life after gastrectomy.Methods1.From June 2016 to January 2018,70 patients with gastric cancer were admitted to undergo gastrectomy in the department of gastrointestinal surgery of the second affiliated hospital of Soochow university.Pgsas-45 evaluation scale was used to evaluate the quality life after gastrectomy..Univariate/multivariate analysis were conducted to.Multivariate factors included type of gastrectomy(TG/DG),age,gender,surgery time,In hospitalization days, surgery complications,short-term postoperative complications, postoperative pathological stage(pTNM),and the ways of surgery(endoscopy/open)were taken into account.Compare two groups of patients in postoperative physical function, mental health, the symptoms of esophageal reverse flow, abdominal pain subscales, indigestion subscales, diarrhea subscales, constipation dietary related subscales, dumping subscales, percentage of each meal food intake, daily food intake percentage, main meal times, extra meal times, feeding quality subscales(score, the higher the worse),work capability assessment and multiple regression analysis.2.The post-gastrectomy syndrome assessment scale(pgsas-45)is a newly developed questionnaire designed to evaluate postoperative life status and survival rate in patients whom undergoing radical gastrectomy. It included 8 short-term health surveys(sf-8),15 gastrointestinal symptoms assessments and 22 important clinical items(table 2).Pgsas-45 were related to postoperative symptoms(items 9-33),including 15 items. In addition,8 items of dietary intake(34-41),1 item about work status(42)and 3 items related to postoperative life satisfaction(43-45)were embraced.3.The results of the two groups of patients were scored by Likert scale.A 7-grade Likert scale was used for 23 postoperative symptoms, and a 5-grade Likert scale was handed for the rest items except for 29,32 and 34-37.For items 1-8 and 38-40,the higher the score, the better the condition,on the contrary, for items 9-28,30,31,33,and 41-45,the higher the score, the worse the condition.4.SPSS 21.0 was used for statistical analysis of the data. The patient's age, operation time and measurement data of relevant indicators were showed in the form and one-way anova was used for calculation.Data such as gender, complications, complications, postoperative status, and open/endoscopy were listed in percentage, and calculated by Kruskal-Wallis rank sum test.P<0.05 meant Statistical significance.A subgroup analysis was performed in each type of gastrectomy.ResultsAccording to the SPSS21.0 analysis, the results shows:1.by analysis,TG and DG group whether in operation time, postoperative hospitalization days, pathological stage showed statistically significant differences. There were no statistically significant differences in age,gender,complications,short-term postoperative complications and open/endoscopy2.TG group showed poor life quality than DG group.Age effected on the total score of symptoms significantly. In hospitalization days and operation stages showed heavily on the scale measurement, but the clinical value.Conclusions1.Compared with the distal subtotal gastrectomy group, the total gastrectomy group showed no differences in age,gender,complications,short-term postoperative complications, and open/endoscopic parameters, however in faces of operative time, postoperative hospitalization days and postoperative pathological stage, total gastrectomy group showed incompetently.2.Compared with distal subtotal gastrectomy, the total gastrectomy group significantly impacted the life quality in subgroups of "complications","complications","open/endoscopy",which indicated that the total gastrectomy would lead to poor life quality.3.By investigating the two groups of total gastrectomy and distal gastrectomy, three subscales showed a good correlation between various influencing factors.
