Aims:To analyze the clinical characteristics of malaria infection,to explore the relationship between the density of malaria parasites and hemoglobin, and to observe the efficacy and adverse reactions of artesunate and quinine. Methods:The clinical data and peripheral blood collected from 101 malaria-infected patients in Friendship Hospital of China and Chad(50 in Chad and 51 Chinese in Chad) were collected. The blood cells were examined by five classifications and blood smears were made to detect malaria parasites. The density of malaria parasites was recorded.Based on the clinical data, the differences of clinical characteristics between the two groups were analyzed retrospectively.Gamma values of two variables of hemoglobin and Plasmodium density were analyzed, and their correlation was compared with the 5-day antipyretic rate of artesunate group and quinine group.Results:1.The WBC,RBC,HGB,PLT and MCV were 8.72±4.281,4.19± 0.702,108.30±22.926,219.06±99.771,84.4±10.108 respectively in Chad local population group and 8.09±3.608,4.43±0.601,125±15.990,218±81.71,89.3 ± 7.313 in Chinese group. The T values of hemoglobin(HGB) and mean hematocrit(MCV) were-4.273,-2.735,and P values were 0.000 and 0.009,respectively,with statistical significance(P < 0.05).2.Bivariate correlation analysis showed that Gamma value was 0.440,P value was 0.000.Variable hemoglobin(HGb) in samples was correlated with variable malaria density,P < 0.05 had statistical significance.3.cough and sore throat accounted for 57.4% of the total cases, headache and joint pain accounted for 48.5% of the total cases, and fever, cough, sore throat, diarrhea and vomiting accounted for 48.5% of the 101 cases. There was nosignificant difference in the proportion of symptoms(P > 0.05,x2=0.082).In the manifestations of headache and joint pain, the infection rate of local residents was significantly higher than that of Chinese people(74% and 23.5%,respectively).The difference was statistically significant(P < 0.05,x2=25.748).4.The proportion of patients treated with artesunate in 5 days was higher than that of patients treated with quinine, and adverse reactions occurred. The difference was statistically significant(P < 0.05).Conclusion:(1)There are significant differences in malaria and anemia between Chadian native residents and Chadian Chinese,malaria-related anemia has certain race differences.(2)There is a correlation between the change of hemoglobin and the density of malaria parasites after malaria infection.Clinically,it should be Pay attention to the changes of red eggs in high-density malaria patients.(3)Gastrointestinal and respiratory manifestations, clinical diagnosis and treatment of the first symptoms after malaria infection, attention should be paid to it.(4)Artesunate is superior to quinine in symptom control and incidence of adverse reactions,Clinical attention should be paid to follow-up after treatment.
