Objective There are many reasons for infertility, including hypothyroidism(hypothyroidism),which can affect reproductive function through various ways, and the specific mechanism is not clear.Detecting the levels of serum IL-6,thyroid hormone and thyroid autoantibodies in infertile women and normal women of childbearing age,to understand the relationship between interleukin-6(IL-6)and thyroid function, thyroid autoimmunity in infertility patients and attempt to explore the serum inflammatory marker changes in infertility women with hypothyroidism or thyroid autoimmunity, providing a clinical basis for the management of infertility patients. Methods 66 patients with infertile women were selected as research subjects, according to serum thyroid hormones level, infertility patients were devided into two group, infertile women with hypothyroidism(32 cases)and without hypothyroidism(34cases),another 34 healthy women of reproductive age in our hospital were chosen as control group, the concentrations of IL-6,thyroid hormones, thyroid autoantibodies were detected respectively, comparing IL-6 levels in the three groups. In addition,in the group of infertile women without hypothyroidism, infertility patients were divided into infertility with anti-thyroglobulin antibodies(ATG)positive group and infertility with ATG negative group according to serum ATG;according to serum thyroid peroxidase autoantibodies(TPO-Ab),infertility patients were divided into infertility with TPO-Ab positive group and infertility with TPO-Ab negative group. All the groups were compared for IL-6 levels.Pearson correlation analysis was used to analyze the correlation between thyroid hormone, thyroid autoantibodies and serum IL-6.The riskfactors for IL-6 were analyzed by multiple linear regression. Results (1)The levels of IL-6 in the three groups were different, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.01);compared to the control group, the infertility without hypothyroidism group had the higher level of IL-6(P<0.01);compared to the infertility without hypothyroidism group, the level of IL-6 was higher in infertility patients with hypothyroidism group(P<0.01);(2)In infertile women without hypothyroidism, the IL-6levels in ATG-positive or TPOAb-positive group had no obvious difference(P>0.05);(3)There were correlation between IL-6 and free triiodothyronine(FT3)? free fhyroxine(FT4)?thyroid-stimulating hormone(TSH)?antithyroglobulin antibody(ATG)and thyroid peroxidase antibody(TPO-Ab)in infertility patients. The IL-6 levels were still significantly correlated with FT3,FT4,even after adjustment for confounders with multiple linear regression analysis(P<0.05).Conclusions Serum IL-6 levels in infertility patients did show a significant correlation with the concentration of thyroid hormone;Serum IL-6 levels did not show a significant correlation with the concentration of TgAb or TPOAb in infertility patients without hypothyroidism.
