Purpose To compare the results of the Michigan Hand Outcomes Questionnaire and the criteria of replantation function evaluation of severed fingers of Chinese Medical Association after replantation of severed fingers, and to compare the results of the two methods. To study the application value of the Michigan Hand Outcomes Questionnaire in the assessment of post-replantation function of severed fingers. Methods After replantation of severed finger in China-Japan Union Hospital of Jilin University from November 2011 to January 2016,the patients were followed up.Inclusion criteria:(1)18 years of age at the time of assessment;(2)more than 1 year from the last operation;(3)distal metacarpophalangeal joint of one or more fingers;(4)replantation of at least one finger after transection of the finger;(4)survival of the replantation of at least one finger after the severing of the finger.Record the general situation of the patient, including age, sex, dominant hand, injured side, level of disconnection, cause of injury, educational level, etc. The Michigan Hand Outcomes Questionnaire was used to evaluate the replantation function of the severed fingers of the Chinese Medical Association. Results A total of 14 patients were enrolled in this study. The mean age was(44.0 ±11.4)years.The follow-up time was(12.2 ±59.9)months.There were 11 males(78.6%)and 3 females(21.4%)with an average age of(44.0 ±11.4)years.Among them,3 fingers(11.1%),5 fingers(18.5%),9 fingers(33.4%),5 fingers(18.5%),and 5 fingers(18.5%)in the thumb,5 fingers(18.5%),5 fingers(18.5%)in the middle finger,5 fingers(18.5%)in the small finger. The causes of injury were cut in 6 cases(42.9%),crush injury in 7 cases(50.0%),avulsion injury in 1 case(7.1%).Disconnection plane: distal interphalangeal joint to distal 5 fingers(18.5%),proximal interphalangeal joint to distal 12 fingers(44.4%),proximal interphalangeal joint to metacarpophalangeal joint between 7 fingers(25.9%),thumb interphalangeal joint to distal 0 fingers(0.0%);The interphalangeal joint of the thumb and the metacarpophalangeal joint were 3 fingers(11.2%).There were 3 cases(21.4%)with single finger,8 cases(57.2%)with multiple fingers and 3 cases(21.4%)with thumb. The University of Michigan hand Survey questionnaire was divided into 28.6 and 92.9 points. The average scores were(62.6 ±17.4)and(58.5 ±18.3),respectively,and the standard of replantation of severed fingers in Chinese Medical Association was(45 ±83)and(58.5 ±18.3),respectively.Statistical analysis results: pairing t test(bilateral),P = 0.28,> 0.05,there was no significant difference. That is,the results of subjective evaluation and objective evaluation are consistent. Conclusion The Michigan Hand Outcomes Questionnaire and the criteria of replantation of severed fingers of Chinese Medical Association can be used to evaluate the hand function of patients after replantation of severed fingers. As a subjective evaluation scale, the Michigan Hand Outcomes Questionnaire has the characteristics of evaluating the postoperative function from the point of view of patients, which is convenient for patients to carry out self-evaluation,and can also provide information that is not available for objective evaluation.
