Objectives:To evaluate the postoperativespeech function, swallowing function, chewing function and opening mouth function, and analyze the relative factors. To evaluate the effects of rehabilitation training for postoperative oral function in patients with soft palate cancer. Methods: The 50 patients with soft palate cancer were recruited from 3 hospital of Hunan province between January 2018 andOctober 2018.With methods of random grouping, the patients were divided into control group and rehabilitation training group(Speech training, swallowing function training, mouth opening training, chewing function training). The relative factors of oral function were collected by questionnaire. The postoperative(10 days, two month and four month)speech function, swallowing function, chewing function and opening mouth function were collected and evaluated.T test was used to analyze the differences in speech function and chewing function.K-W test was used to analyze the differences in mouth opening extent and swallowing function. The chi-square test was used to compare the differences in clinical parameters between the experimental group and the control group.Results:(1)The relative factors of 10-day postoperative swallowing function were flap reconstruction(P=0.027)and soft palate resection(P<0.001).The relative factor of 10-day postoperative chewing function was soft palate resection(P=0.0001).The relative factor of 10-day postoperative speech function was soft palate resection(P<0.0001).(2)To compare the oral function between the experimental group and the control group 2 months after surgery, there were statistical differences in swallowing function(P=0.0012),mouth opening degree(P=0.0065),speech function(P=0.0328),and chewing function(P=0.1572).(3)To compare the oral function between the experimental group and the control group 4 months after surgery, there were statistical differences in swallowing function(P=0.0015),mouth opening degree(P=0.0001),speech function(P=0.0094),and chewing function(P=0.2214).Conclusions:(1)The soft palate cancer with free flap had better swallowing function than pedicle flap; The soft palate cancer with larger resection size had worse swallowing function, chewing function and speech function.(2)Early rehabilitation training in patients with soft palate cancer can significantly improve their postoperative swallowing function, extent of mouth opening and recovery of speech function.
